“This is one race that Lucas Oil Speedway fans circle on the calendar each year as the top modified drivers in the country make their annual pilgrimage to Lucas Oil Speedway.” commented Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson.

“With a list of previous USMTS winners at Lucas Oil Speedway that include stars such as Ryan Gustin, Terry Phillips, and Jeremy Payne you can always count on a great caliber of drivers in the field and it’s always neat to see our weekly USRA competitors like Tim Setzer, Jason Russell, Jeff Cutshaw, Jason Pursley and many others line up against the top drivers of the USMTS.”

Lucas Oil Speedway will grant (2) track provisional starting spots on Saturday Night for the USMTS Feature event. Provisional spots will be awarded to the two drivers not making the show, who are the highest in current Lucas Oil Speedway Pitts Homes USRA Modified Points.

Top USMTS drivers Johnny Scott, Rodney Sanders, Stormy Scott, Zack Van Der Beek, Kelly Shryock, John Allen, Daniel Hilsabeck, Derrick Ramirez, Joe Duvall, Rick Beebe and many more are expected to be in action. The Battle of the Badges will also race on August 9th as the race will feature Missouri’s finest Law Enforcement Officers, all racing to raise money for charity and for the title of “Top Cop”.

The officers will be driving late model Ford Crown Victoria’s that will provide a “cop car” look for the race. Each driver seeks the support of sponsors and must raise at least $500 dollars per race to compete.

All the cars on the track were at one point police cruisers. Some of these cars went on to be taxi cabs and have racked up over 300,000 miles on them. Some were pulled out of junk yards and have been given a second chance.

The driver and their crew members have stripped the vehicles of their factory interior and replaced it with roll cages and the safety equipment necessary to be on the track. The Battle of the Badges race will raise money for Special Olympics.

Lucas Oil Speedway is “America’s New Motorsports Destination”.
