(Warrensburg, MO) Although it may seem just like yesterday when CMS first made its highly anticipated announcement regarding its 2014 grand re-opening season coming off a two-year dormancy period, just five nights of racing remain on this season’s schedule!

CMS took a different approach to scheduling events this year than previous years by scheduling a variety of racing divisions each week as guest classes. According to track owners/promoters Earl and Susan Walls, “Some guest classes have worked well and consistently brought new people to the stands and pit areas and we like the guest class aspect of scheduling; it brings a nice variety of racing to the track and accompanies our weekly program well, which will remain USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks for 2015.”

The Walls and the rest of the CMS planning staff recently met to review the current season to this point and to plan remaining 2014 events. In addition, special event dates for 2015 were also penciled in with all three major summer holiday weekend events once again featuring two nights of racing among various car classes.

CMS plans to base 2015 guest class appearances on driver participation and crowd attendance from events already held this season and the remaining events by focusing on driver participation and crowds on hand for each guest class. CMS will also look into race formats and order of events for next year’s special events based on events already held this season and how the upcoming revised Labor Day weekend unfolds.

Speaking of the Labor Day weekend events, the USRA Modified portion of the weekend was scheduled as a traditional two-day event with one night of payout; however, as CMS looks into new race formats, the Labor Day weekend for USRA Modified drivers will now be two separate and complete race programs on Saturday and Sunday, paying $1500-to-win and $175-to-start each night with an increase of over $5,000 from the originally posted purse!

For Modified drivers, there is a $50 entry fee per night entered if the driver has raced twice at CMS during a regular weekly race program PRIOR to this event. If the Modified driver has not raced twice PRIOR to this event at CMS during a regular weekly race program, the entry fee is $75. Entry fee includes driver pit pass for one night of competition only.

Saturday, August 30/Sunday, August 31 USRA Modified Special Payout: 1st $1,500 |2nd $1,000 | 3rd $700 | 4th $600 | 5th $500 | 6th $450 | 7th $400 | 8th $350 | 9th $300 | 10th $275 | 11th $250 | 12th $235 | 13th $225 | 14th $220 | 15th $215 | 16th $210 | 17th $205 | 18th $200 | 19th/20th/21st $195 | 22nd/23rd/24th $175 | B-Main non-transfers $50.

B-Modified drivers also have a special event over the Labor Day weekend taking place on Sunday, August 31. The B-Mod special will run under the USRA sanctioning banner. For B-Mods, the entry fee is $50 if the driver has raced twice at CMS during a regular weekly race program PRIOR to this event. If the B-Modified driver has not raced twice PRIOR to this event at CMS during a regular weekly race program, the entry fee is $75. Entry fee includes driver pit pass for one night of competition only.
