Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing resumed the 2014 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule on August 8-9 in the 32nd Annual ‘North/South 100’ at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. For the first time, qualifying was scrapped and the passing points format featured double heat races on Friday night. Dennis Erb, Jr. ran second in his first heat race of the evening, while he finished sixth in his second prelim.

After just missing the top sixteen in passing points, which would have locked him directly into the $50,000 to win headliner, Dennis wound up sixth in his B-Main on Saturday. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout then relied on a series provisional to gain access into the 100-lapper and rolled off from the outside of the twelfth row in the ‘North/South 100.’ Dennis then rallied past sixteen competitors during the crown jewel extravaganza, which was taped by the television cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, to claim a respectable eighth place performance. He still sits ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the North/South 100.’ Full results can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned crown jewel event this upcoming weekend (August 15-16) in the state of Arkansas. The 22nd edition of the ‘Topless 100’ will be held at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas and a hefty $40,000 top prize will be on the line. Qualifying and heat races will be held on Friday night, while the consolation events and the 100-lap ‘Topless 100′ will headline the weekend on Saturday evening. The high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios will once again be on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action for later this year.
