Lucas Oil SpeedwayWheatland, MO- (August 18th, 2014)- With heavy overnight rains on Friday night and into Saturday morning and the threat of rain throughout the evening, Kris Jackson, J.D. Hubert, Terry Schultz, and J.D. Hubert overcame the challenging track conditions to score their respective class wins on TA/Petro Fan Appreciation Night this past Saturday, August 16th.

All winners not only received the winners share of the purse but each also received a $300 gift certificate for the Lucas Oil Speedway Parts Store courtesy of Travel Centers of America and Petro Stopping Centers.

The first feature to hit the track was the Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mods and it was a barn burner as Lebanon, Missouri’s Kris Jackson made a last lap pass on Fort Scott, Kansas driver Andy Bryant to score the win after chasing Bryant throughout the race. Dustin Campbell of Nevada started 7th and finished in the third spot. Wheatland’s Mike Striegel led the field to the green flag from the pole but slipped to fourth in the final rundown. Steve Muilenburg completed the top-5 after starting in third.

The ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models were next up as J.D. Hubert started on the pole and crossed the AAA finish line in first despite pressure throughout the event from Jake Williams, Larry Ferris, and Payton Looney. Looney made a last ditch effort to pull alongside Hubert in a photo finish but Hubert would not be denied as he scored the win while Looney settled for second. Brian Schutt charged through the field to finish in the third spot after starting 15th while Larry Ferris and Todd McCoin crossed the stripe in fourth and fifth respectively.

Terry Schultz returned to Lucas Oil Speedway for the second week in a row and held off Cross Timbers, Missouri driver Jeff Cutshaw and Nic Bidinger out of Perry, Kansas to score a narrow win in the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds as Schultz utilized the extreme high side of the race track. Cutshaw was able to hold onto second at the finish while Bidinger started third and finished third. El Dorado Springs driver Chase Jones continued a string of impressive finishes as he scored another top-5 finish crossing the line in fourth with Jason Pursley charging from 10th to fifth at the finish.

It may seem as thought David Hendrix jumps in his Josh Franklin Motorsports entry in the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks and cruises to the win each week but it was anything but that this week. Hendrix did score his 10th win of the season and the $500 payday courtesy of O’ Dell Trucking at Lucas Oil Speedway but not without a spirited battle once again with Kenny Carroll and Marc Carter. Carroll finished as the bridesmaid with Carter racing his way to the front from his 10th starting spot to finish in third. Randy Gilmore had a solid run in his Frogs Signs sponsored machine to finish in fourth while Clayton Campbell rallied from his 18th starting position to score a top-5 in his leafsprung 03 machine.
