Eldora Speedway(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team ventured to the states of Ohio and West Virginia with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a trio of high-profile Labor Day holiday weekend showdowns from August 29-31. On Friday night at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, Dennis ran fourth in his heat race prior to nabbing a respectable eleventh place performance in the $10,000 to win main event. A similar program was held on Saturday evening at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, as another $10,000 top prize was on the line in the annual running of the ‘Pepsi 50 River Days Rumble.’ Dennis once again finished fourth in heat race action at PRP and later crossed underneath the checkers thirteenth at the conclusion of the 50-lapper.

The huge tripleheader then wrapped up on Sunday with a visit to I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia for the 46th edition of the ‘Hillbilly 100.’ Dennis knocked down the fourth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the $25,000 to win mega-event, the Carpentersville, Illinois native drove past eight competitors during the 100-lap affair. Dennis earned the impressive fourth place outing by finishing behind only winner Don O’Neal, Jimmy Owens, and Steve Francis. Complete results from all three venues can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis will look to build on that momentum from the ‘Hillbilly 100’ top five into this upcoming weekend, where he will be among the over 100 entrants for the ‘World 100.’ The hallowed Eldora Speedway will once again be the epicenter of the Dirt Late Model universe on September 4-6, as the 44th annual running of the “Granddaddy of Them All” will take place at the Rossburg, Ohio facility. On Thursday and Friday, a pair of 25-lap preliminary main events will take place both nights, each of which will pay $5,000 to the winner.

When Saturday rolls around at the “Big E,” the stakes will be much higher, as six heat races and consolation events will set the stage for the 100-lap grind. The winner of the 44th Annual ‘World 100’ will not only receive the hefty $47,000 payday, but also the famed globe trophy. Dennis has transferred into six ‘World 100′ main events in his career with his best finish of tenth coming twice back in 2004 and 2009.
