Knoxville Raceway(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing returned to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series scene on September 19-20 in the 35th edition of the ‘Jackson 100’ at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Things kicked off at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked oval on Friday night with qualifying and Dennis Erb, Jr. started his weekend by posting the sixth fastest lap in Group A during the time trial session. When Saturday rolled around at Brownstown, Dennis earned the second transfer spot through his heat race behind only prelim winner Steve Casebolt.

The Carpentersville, Illinois star then started the $20,000 to win mega-event from the inside of the fourth row and was looking for his first ‘Jackson 100’ title. Dennis was a fixture inside of the top ten through much of the 100-lap distance and eventually netted a solid seventh place performance. He still sits ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following Brownstown. Complete results from the ‘Jackson 100’ weekend can be obtained online by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be a trip to the Hawkeye State from September 25-27 for the 11th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ at the hallowed grounds of Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction all of the dirt-slinging action at the 1/2-mile Marion County Fairgrounds oval. The three-day crown jewel event will start later tonight and Friday with a pair of preliminary events, each of which will be capped off with a 25-lap sprint paying $7,000 to the winner.

The culmination of the ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ will then take place on the black dirt on Saturday evening and a whopping $40,000 top prize will be on the line. Saturday’s lineup includes a D-Main, C-Main, B-Main, and the 100-lap ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The award winning Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to film this mega-event that will air on both NBC Sports and the MAVTV American Real Networks in 2014. Dennis finished thirteenth in last year’s extra-distance headliner at Knoxville.
