Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series west to the hallowed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on September 25-27 for the 11th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The three-day crown jewel spectacular kicked off with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary programs at the 1/2-mile Marion County speedplant. On Thursday night, Dennis narrowly missed out on transferring into the 25-lap sprint after finishing fourth in his loaded heat race and eighth in the B-Main. At Knoxville on Friday evening, Dennis ran sixth in his heat race, third in the B-Main, and twenty-third in the caution-free 25-lapper.

By virtue of his point total from Friday, Dennis earned a starting spot on the outside of the twelfth row in Saturday’s $40,000 to win ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ In front of a huge grandstand crowd and the cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout improved nine positions during the 100-lap headliner to claim a fifteenth place performance. Dennis still finds himself ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the extended weekend in the Hawkeye State. Full results from Knoxville Raceway can be obtained online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will travel south to the Peach State of Georgia on October
4-5 for two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles. The annual running of the ‘Dixie Shootout’ will take place on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, while the ‘Rome Showdown’ will conclude the doubleheader on Sunday evening at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia. Both single-day programs will be highlighted by 50-lap features, which will each boast a $10,000 winner’s check.
