Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series 5th Annual Series Championship Event at Florence Speedway on October 25

American Modified SeriesGlasgow, KY-October 9, 2014- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will conclude its 2014 campaign with the 5th Annual Series Championship Event at Florence Speedway in Union, KY on Saturday October 25. This event is always a crowd pleaser and will see many of the region’s top Open Wheel Modified pilots in competition, culminating with a 40 lap, $5,000 to win win, $250 to start A-Main event.

The trip for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series to Florence Speedway will be the tour’s seventh visit to the track that will be hosting the series championship event for the third consecutive season. Previous winners at Florence Speedway include Brandon Green of Walton, KY (2014), Brian Ruhlman of Clarklake, MI (2013), Devin Gilpin of Columbus, IN (2012 and 2013), Rick Aukland of Zanesville, OH (2012), and Matt Hamilton of Aurora, IN (2011). Green is the most recent series winner at the track, while Ruhlman is the defending event champion.

Activities will begin on Friday October 24 as there will be an open practice session for Super Late Models and Modifieds that evening, along with a full program of racing action for the track’s Pure Stock and Hornet divisions. The pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices on Friday October 24 in the general admission area will be $5 for adults, while a pit pass will be $20.

The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will then be in competition at Florence Speedway in Union, KY on Saturday October 25. The event will feature the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 40 lap, $5,000 to win/$250 to start 5th Annual Series Championship A-Main contest. Other divisions joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Florence Speedway will be the track’s Super Late Model division in competition in the track’s Fall 50 event, that will pay $5,000 to win for Super Late Models that evening as well.

Activities for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series event at Florence Speedway on Saturday October 25 will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m. and general admission area open at 4:30 p.m. Practice is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m., followed immediately by time trials, with racing set to take the green flag at 6:30 p.m. All times listed are Eastern Time. Ticket prices for the event at Florence Speedway in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, children ages 6 to 11 is $3, and children ages 5 and under are free, while a pit pass will be $36.

In addition, all patrons need to visit the souvenir area and stop by the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Maxima Racing Oil Vending Area and pick up the official 2014 series t-shirt. Also, bring the children out and let them register to win a FREE bicycle courtesy of Tennessee RV Sales and Service and also pick up a FREE coloring book featuring drivers of the tour.
