(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his #21 BMR team closed out their version of the 2014 racing season from November 6-8 at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. The 8th Annual ‘World of Outlaws World Finals’ was held over the weekend at the 4/10-mile speedplant and 77 entrants piled into the pit area for the pair of $12,000 to win events. On Thursday night, Billy laid down the sixth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying for Friday’s showdown and the seventh quickest time in Group A for the season finale on Saturday evening.
In front of a huge Charlotte crowd, Billy ran third in his heat race on Friday before winding up thirteenth in the final rundown of the 50-lapper. On Saturday, the Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer finished second in heat race action and later moved up three spots during the course of the 50-lap headliner. Billy wrapped up his ’14 campaign with a strong fourth place performance behind only race winner Jimmy Owens, Tim McCreadie, and Scott Bloomquist. With the 2014 season now complete, the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team can look back on what was a tremendous year from start to finish. Billy entered seventy-seven (77) events and racked up fourteen (14) victories, forty-two (42) Top Five finishes, and fifty-six (56) Top Ten efforts. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” was lethal with several different national and regional touring series in 2014, as he picked up wins with the now defunct National Dirt Racing League, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series, UMP Summer Nationals, Lucas Oil MLRA Series, and the MARS DIRTcar Series.
