screven(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and his #53 team made the trip to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia on Saturday, January 31 for the annual running of the ‘Cabin Fever 40.’ The unsanctioned Super Late Model special at the Chattanooga area facility boasted a $3,000 top prize. Ray clicked off the fastest lap of the 48 competitors during qualifying and later finished second in the dash.

After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the front row, Ray was running in the third spot on lap 26 when terminal problems under the hood ended his night prematurely. The Brasstown, North Carolina standout was dropped to seventeenth in the final finishing order of the ‘Cabin Fever 40.’ Complete results from Boyd’s Speedway can be accessed online at www.boydsspeedway.net.

Due to the engine woes suffered at Boyd’s, Ray Cook Racing will only be able to take their Crate Late Model to Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia over the ‘Winter Freeze’ weekend on February 6-7. A $1,500 winner’s check will be on the line this Friday evening, while a $2,000 payday will be up for grabs in the weekend finale on Saturday night. Additional information on the ‘Winter Freeze’ extravaganza can be viewed by clicking on www.screvenmotorsports.com.
