West Virginia’s “Burdizzle” takes $1,500 Winter Freeze V show in Dominating Fashion in Georgia
**KC Burdette was able to take the checkers in dominating fashion to become the 2nd National Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour winner in two races in 2015**
(Sylvania, Georgia) The Winter Freeze V speed weeks continued at “Redd’s clay playground” Screven Motorsports Complex for the drivers and teams of the Renegades of Dirt South Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts Friday. Thirty eight teams from nine states embarked on the 3/8th mile clay facility nestled off Hwy. 21 in Sylvania, Georgia for the continuation of the 5th installment of the “winter racing extravaganza”. Friday’s show paid $1,500 to the winner and was the final appetizer before the $4,000 to win “main course” up for the taking Saturday.
The Renegades of Dirt South Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts we’re pumped up and ready to shine including the race fans after seeing the great battle put on by the “mod squad” Thursday. On a frigid night in Georgia the first race was decided by inches between Minnesota’s Dale Mathison and runner up North Carolina’s David Stremme leaving the fans wanting more. At the conclusion of the evening 4Dice of KC Burdette from Parkersburg, WV was able to take the win making two winners on the tour so far in 2015.
The race with #28 Jason Brookover and #4dice KC Burdette proudly representing West Virginia on the front row started with a sequence of repeated multi car incidents. Hiccups on the restart would cause the yellow to come out again repeatedly after drivers we’re trying to handle the new track conditions Friday that James “Redd” Griffin wanted to have happen that we’re meant to to be different after each race night. The initial start had to get going again after a half a dozen cars involved in a tangle diving into the first corner. Then with one lap in caution would come out again after #6 Ryan Ayers lost the handle then causing four others spinning to avoid him. They got back to green and from there on KC Burdette in the #4Dice would pull away from the pack at the green but caution lights would trigger again after Robbie Evans got tangled in a big incident in turn three severely damaging his machine in the process also collecting #91 Cody Erickson and #85s of Mike Smith. They however we’re able to continue but it ended veteran racer Evans night.
Back on the restart they we’re able to take it all the way to the checkers with the only driver able to try and mount a charge or so we thought was #35 David Stremme who was also runner up on Thursday to 1st time Renegades of Dirt South presented by Arizona Sport Shirts winner #9m Dale Mathison who struggled also Friday in the feature go. Stremme was closing in on Burdette but finally the “Burdizzle” came into full affect as he began to decimate the competition and Stremme who also complained of having power steering issues 1/3rd before the completion of the race. Burdette would hold off any and everyone at the checkers with a margin of victory being 5.346 seconds for Stremme when he took the runner up spot. Its Burdette 1st ever career national modified touring victory with the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts and making him the 2nd different winner of the year so far in the 2015 race season.
