ray-cook(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing traveled south to Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia over the February 6-7 weekend to compete in the ‘Winter Freeze V’ extravaganza. While they were unable to bring their Super Late Model, Ray Cook did compete in the Crate Late Model portion of the weekend. On Friday night, Ray timed in seventh fastest during the qualifying session and later climbed up to third in the $1,500 to win feature event.

At Screven on Saturday evening, the Brasstown, North Carolina star qualified fourth quickest during time trials prior to placing second in the dash. After starting the $2,000 to win main event from the outside of the front row, Ray led the first 34 circuits in the 40-lapper before eventually settling for a strong runner-up effort behind only victor Ben Faircloth. Complete results from Screven Motor Speedway can be found online by pointing your web browser to www.screvenmotorsports.com.

The #53 team will enjoy the upcoming February 13-14 weekend away from the racetrack before venturing to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on February 20-21 for the inaugural running of the ‘Red Clay Nationals.’ Preliminary action will take place on that Friday night, while the consolation events and features are scheduled for that Saturday evening at the northern Georgia complex. Ray will vie for the $3,000 top prize in the Super Late Model division, while he will battle for the $2,000 winner’s check behind the wheel of his Crate Late Model.
