Clarksville SpeedwayClarksville, TN-March 21, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series kicked off its 2015 season on Saturday with the twice weather-delayed 11th Annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic and a classic it was as Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY would outduel Trent Young to claim the series first victory of 2015.  Miller’s victory would come in the Lexington Landscape/Powell’s Transmission/Joe’s Small Engine/C. Blackwell Construction/Dane Elliott Industrial Wilson’s Printworks/Mark Bush Racing sponsored #15 Bandit Race Car powered by a Tucker’s Performance Race Engine.  It would be Miller’s second career series victory.

Clayton Miller would take the lead at the start, followed by Trent Young, Zach Fair, Matt Cooper, and Lucas Lee.  Miller and Young would quickly pull away to begin their battle for supremacy and were working traffic by lap 6.  Caution waved on lap 8 when then fourth place running Lucas Lee spun in turn 1 just as Young was passing Miller for the lead, negating the pass.  Young would pressure Miller on the restart and work past Miller on lap 10, only to see the caution wave two laps later when Dustin Rollins spun on the frontchute after losing a left rear tire.  The restart would see Miller pressure Young and Miller would take the lead on lap 14, with Brian Shaw drawing the caution one trip later after spinning in turn four.  The restart would see Young in front, with Miller nipping at his heels as the duo caught slower traffic on lap 21, allowing now third place Matt Cooper to join the fray.  Miller would retake the lead by a bumper on lap 22, with Young battling back and retaking the lead on lap 24 at the line in a two and sometimes three-wide battle in traffic.  Miller would execute what would be the winning pass in traffic on lap 27, with the caution waving again one circuit later when Dennis Roberson contacted the wall in turn one.  Miller would survive another two more cautions on the restart and keep Young at bay to capture the win, with Young taking runner-up honors.  Cooper would finish third, while Tyler Nicely and Josh Harris would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the 11th Annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic A-Main would be Zach Fair, Jeff Curl, Mark Lamont, Jesse Snyder, and Ricky Tinch.  The 30 lap, $1,500 to win event would be slowed by six caution periods.

In preliminary action, Trent Young would be the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among 27 entries at 113.971 seconds.  Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Clayton Miller, while Matt Cooper scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two.  Hypercoils heat three went to Trent Young, with Zach Fair winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four.  The Out-Pace Racing Products B-Main went to Danny Claycomb, while Bob Broege and Dave Mitchell were series provisional starters.

The next event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is Saturday March 28 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN.  The Tennessee RV Supercenter 35 will be 35 laps in distance and pay $3,000 to win.
