By Jimmy Dearing — Pevely, MO (April 11th, 2015) – Another outstanding field of drivers were on hand for Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55’s second weekend of racing action of 2015.

Although Michael Kloos has won many races at many different tracks and is considered one of the best late model drivers in Illinois, he had never one a feature event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 throughout the years that he has been racing there. That streak came to an end with his hard earned victory tonight at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in the UMP DIRTcar Late Model division. Tim Manville jumped out to the early lead when the green flag waved, Manville would have his hands full with Scott Weber and Kloos as the three battled for the top spot for the first twelve laps even going three wide for the lead at times. Kloos would finally clear Manville and Weber for the lead and he would open up about a eight to ten car length lead over Manville as they ran down to the closing laps. Kloos appeared to be on his way to a relatively comfortable win when disaster nearly struck with just two laps remaining. As he worked lapped traffic, contact from Paul Roider in turn three would send Kloos’ machine way up the track and almost into the outside retaining wall before he could recover. Kloos avoided the outside wall but lost much of his momentum which allowed Manville to move right up onto his rear quarter panel and the two would fight it out to the finish with Kloos prevailing for the win. Scott Weber would finish third behind Manville. Billy Laycock with charge from the eleventh starting spot to finish fourth with Kolby Vandenbergh rounding out the top five.

Michael Long made the two plus hour trip down from Fowler, Illinois and would take the UMP DIRTcar Modified victory. Long came from the eighth starting spot to battle Josh Russell, Rusty Griffaw, Dean Hoffman and Mark Miner for the top spot. Long would take control of the lead about half way through the event and would go on to a convincing victory. Meanwhile, there was a spectacular show behind Long for the rest of the top ten positions. Lots of side by side and fender rubbing action as many drivers swapped the positions around throughout the entire event. Josh Russell would come home in the second spot at the end with Rusty Griffaw finishing third. Dean Hoffman and Mark Miner would round out the top five.

Jeff LeBaube would claim the UMP DIRTcar Pro Modified main event. LeBaube would lead all fifteen laps in taking the win. Fred Sparks, Jr., Stephen Fohne and CJ Springer swapped the second position around lap after lap but Sparks found a fast line around the middle and would claim the second position over Fohne. Springer would take fourth with Kyle Wilde finishing fifth.

Trey Harris would hold off Troy Medley and Joe McCain to claim the UMP DIRTcar/AARA Sportsman main event. Medley and McCain had a great side by side battle for second for most of the closing laps with Medley taking second. Matt Brucato would get the fourth spot and Kent Nations fifth.

The UMP DIRTcar/AARA Pro 4 Stocks had another epic battle. There was plenty of paint being traded between the top contenders as there were as many as five or six cars running in a pack for the top spot. Eldon Hemken would take the top spot from Rickey Carriker at the end with Dallas Lugge taking a close third. Robert Price would finish fourth and Cole Queathem fifth.
