“Sprints Gone Wild” Pits FVP National Sprint League vs. MOWA at Jacksonville Friday!

Jacksonville SpeedwayWindom, MN (May 11, 2015) – The FVP National Sprint League and the Neal Tire & Auto Service Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) square off this Friday night, May 15 at “America’s Baddest Bullring”, the Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois.  The “Sprints Gone Wild” event will not only see the best of the two series squaring off, it will also see a pair of Hall of Famers in the house as “The King” Steve Kinser and Danny Smith are just two of the invaders expected to vie for the $5,000 top prize!

Joining Kinser and Smith as another Hall of Famer in the group, is current FVP National Sprint League point leader, “The Dude” Danny Lasoski.  Lasoski is a four-time Knoxville Nationals champion.  Danny is expected to be joined by 2013 Jacksonville “Shaheen’s Blast from the Past” winner Brian Brown, two-time King of California Tim Kaeding, last week’s Eagle Raceway NSL winner Brad Loyet, five-time Huset’s Speedway champion, Mark Dobmeier, seven-time IRA champion Bill Balog, nine-time Australian World Series Sprintcar titlist Brooke Tatnell, defending Knoxville Raceway champion, Ian Madsen, Dusty Zomer, Davey Heskin, two-time Sprint Invaders champion and Illinois native Kaley Gharst and many more!

Four-time and defending MOWA champion Jerrod Hull will lead the Midwest Open Wheel Association entries Friday.  The Sikeston, Missouri driver has a slew of wins at Jacksonville including this year’s season opener at the high-banked ¼-mile oval.  Hunter Schuerenberg, who picked up the win at the second MOWA event of the year at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois will also be on hand.  Former Jacksonville Speedway champion AJ Bruns, Joey Moughan, Robbie Standridge, Korey Weyant, Chris Urish, Jake Blackhurst, Cory Bruns, Jeremy Standridge and Logan Faucon are just a few of the MOWA regulars anticipated.

Hull leads the all-time MOWA win list at Jacksonville with five victories.  He is also the series all-time leading feature winner (17).  Jimmy Hurley has three wins in MOWA competition at Jacksonville, and Danny Smith, AJ Bruns and Brian Brown have two.  Terry McCarl, Joey Moughan and Bryan Clauson have also been victorious with the MOWA series at “America’s Baddest Bullring”.

Paul Nienhiser is a FVP National Sprint League member that lives close by in Chapin, Illinois.  He has spent the last three years racing with the MOWA series and has a good perspective on this weekend’s “Sprints Gone Wild” event.  “This is a good thing for me,” he says.  “There are a lot of good cars close to home with the MOWA series here.  The NSL brings not only Knoxville cars, but cars that are competitive all over the place.  You have solid guys that know how to get around Jacksonville versus guys who know how to get around a lot of tracks around the country.  I think it’s going to be something special!  It’s really been neat to run with the FVP National Sprint League so far this year, and this is going to be a big event!”

In addition to the FVP National Sprint League vs. MOWA event, 305 sprints are on the card, along with micro-sprints!  VIP Party opens at 4:00 p.m. (see below), Grandstands open at 4:30 p.m. (see ticket information below) with hot laps scheduled for 6:15 p.m.  Qualifying and racing will follow.
