show-me-100-2015.jpgWHEATLAND, MO (May 13th, 2015) – Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway and Midwest Sheet Metal in Springfield, Missouri are pleased to announce the highly successful Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge last chance race will once again be part of the 23rd Annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 over Memorial Day Weekend in 2015.

“This is the third year in a row that Midwest Sheet Metal has stepped up to sponsor this race and it has really become an important factor for the racers as they know it give them not only one last shot to get into the Show-Me 100 but it also gives them a chance to make a little extra money if they have had a bit of a rough weekend.” stated Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson.

The top-24 drivers not already locked into the main event after the completion of heat races and b-mains will be eligible for the 20-lap, $2,000 to win Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge held just prior to the feature race. The winner has the choice to either take the $2,000 race winnings and put it in the trailer or start shotgun on the field in the 100 lap main event to get a chance at the $30,000.

In addition to the winners share, the race pays a minimum of $250 to start so it gives everyone in the field a chance for additional winnings despite not making the main event.

Tommy Weder won the Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge Non-Qualifiers Race in 2014 and elected to start 32nd in the main event, ultimately being credited with a 30th place finish after retiring early.

The Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com is broadcast on major television networks and attracts the best drivers in all of Dirt Late Model Racing from the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil MLRA. Having a non-qualifiers race, is a great bonus for drivers competing in the first mega-event of the year. “We’re really proud to be part of the Show-Me Challenge event” stated Midwest Sheet Metal President Chris Davis, “the Show-Me 100 is such a prestigious race and anything we can do to help the racers with a chance to earn some extra money and get another shot at winning the main event is a great feeling.”
