Terre Haute Action TrackSchrader & Wallace Add To Event Excitement

The focus of the sports world lies in the state of Indiana this week, as the Indy 500 takes center stage, but race fans from all over make it a week-long celebration by enjoying events in Terre Haute, Indiana and at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis as well. The 45th running of the Tony Hulman Classic for the USAC Sprint cars is set for Wednesday, May 20 at the Terre Haute Action Track, while the 62nd Annual Hoosier Hundred for the USAC Silver Crown cars is Thursday, May 21. For NASCAR fans, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be competing with the UMP Modifieds on both nights, sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

Ken Schrader, who has won four of the last five Modified events at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, is a former fulltime competitor with the NASCAR Cup Series. Schrader, from Fenton, MO, won four Cup events, not to count two Bud Clash events, and three pole awards in the Daytona 500. Schrader runs all over the country, sometimes several times a week, in his Federated Auto Parts Modified.

Kenny Wallace, a 3-time NASCAR Busch Series Most Popular driver, now can be seen and heard each week on network television pre-race and post-race shows, bringing his excitement to the Cup series. Wallace, who still competes on a part-time basis in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, finished second in the Terre Haute season opener but has picked up numerous Modified wins in 2015.

The two professional racers will compete in both Track Enterprises events this week and will be joined by numerous top notch racers vying for UMP Modified points at the midweek shows. At Terre Haute, the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars will battle it out, while 34 drivers are pre-entered for the USAC Silver Crown cars at the Hoosier Hundred.

On Wednesday, May 20 at Terre Haute, pit gates will open at 3:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps will start at 6:00, and racing will begin at 7:30. Grandstand admission is $25, infield admission $15, and children 10 and under are free.

On Thursday, May 21 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, pit gates will open at 12:00, grandstands at 3:00, practice will begin at 5:00, qualifying at 6:00, and feature action will start at 7:00. Advance admission for the Hoosier Hundred is $25 for adults, while raceday admission is $30. Children 11 and under can enter for $10. Infield admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children.
