Jeff Leka Wins in Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Action at Farmer City

American-Modified-SeriesFarmer City, IL-May 22, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series kicked off its 2015 Memorial Day Weekend Land of Lincoln tour at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL and Jeff Leka of Buffalo, IL scored his second career tour victory and first since he won with the tour at Farmer City in August 2013. The win for Leka was worth $1,500 and came aboard his Wiseman Salvage and Demolition/Byerline Garage/Accurate Towing/Pontiac RV/Mr. Auto Electric/Aggressive Signs and Designs/Budda Bert Transmission Sales/All Star Performance/McQuinn Motorsports sponsored #3L Bob Pierce Race Car powered by a NCP Race Engine.

Mark Lamont would take the lead at the start of the event, only to have Chad Kinder overhaul him for the lead one circuit later. Kinder would keep the race lead until lap 18 when his mount suffered a broken front ball joint and Jeff Leka would inherit the race lead. Leka would lead the final laps to score the victory and garner a $1,500 payday. Jay Ledford would finish in the runner-up position, while top qualifier Steven Brooks would complete the podium finishers with a third place effort. Tyler Nicely would finish in the fourth position, with opening lap leader Mark Lamont completing the top five at the conclusion of the event.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Farmer City Raceway A-Main would be Clayton Miller, Brian Lynn, Josh Harris, Lance Dehm, Jeff Curl. The 30 lap, $1,500 to win event would go caution free.

In preliminary action, Steven Brooks was the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among 34 entries at 14.390 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Mark Lamont, while Jay Ledford scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two. Hypercoils heat three went to Chad Kinder, with Jeff Leka winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four. The Out-Pace Racing Products B-Mains went to Justin Leka and Jacoby Hines, while Jefffrey Ledford and Jamie Lomax.

The next events for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be tonight Saturday May 23 at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL for the 2nd Annual Gary Cook, Jr. Memorial, paying $2,064 to win.
