Moberly, MO(May 23, 2015)-Taking over the lead for good on lap twenty one, Casey Shuman picked up the win at Randolph County Raceway in the Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps WAR Sprint Series presented by Next LED/WAR East co-sanctioned A-Main Saturday night.

Danny Thoman and Shuman battled back and forth on lap one with Thoman nipping Shuman at the line to lead the lap. Thoman would continue to run a higher groove to keep command over the next four laps with Shuman never far behind. Just behind the lead duo, Mike Moore was making up ground to make it a three car battle for the lead.

Shuman would nip Thoman at the line to lead lap six and by lap eight, Moore was applying heavy pressure to Thoman for the second spot. Moore would get by Thoman on lap nine and a lap later, he was able to get up to Shuman to battle for the top spot. A lap later, the Des Moines, IA driver would work his way past Shuman to lead his first lap in WAR competition. Moore would continue to lead until lap fifteen when Shuman was able to sneak past Moore.

Moore would battle back on lap sixteen to retake the top spot and he would lead Shuman over the next four laps.

On lap twenty one, Shuman would move back by Moore and would steadily increase his lead over the next handful of laps. With the white flag having already been waved and Shuman in turn three, the yellow would come out for a John Helm spin in turn one.

This would give the field one more shot at Shuman, but he was up to the challenge. Behind him, Moore and Thoman were feeling the heat from Chris Parkinson just before the yellow came out.

On the restart, Shuman was gone, but action was intense behind him as Parkinson got a great run to overtake Thoman for third. Parkinson was also able to get by Moore and as the duo went into turn three on the final lap, Moore made one last effort to get the second spot back as he got together with Parkinson spinning out the defending WAR champion. With the rest of the field having nowhere to go, some drivers were able to take evasive action while others weren’t so lucky as Riley Kreisel, Robert Black, Rik Forbes, and Scott Comstock all being involved.

With Shuman having taken the checkered flag, the race was complete as the driver of the Hockett Racing/Korte Transportation #75 picked up his second win of the year to widen his points lead. Moore was second in the Moore Racing Maxim with Thoman third in the Cars Plus Credit/Noggin Brothers Car Wash #27. Mitch Wissmiller was a solid fourth in his Air Plus Contracting Solutions/Winterland Farms Maxim with Hixson power. Rounding out the top five was Tommy Rockwell in his Turnbull Performance Group/J&J Powdercoating Maxim with Rockwell power.

The Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps Sprint Series presented by Next LED will be in action next Saturday May 30 at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, MO.
