kentucky-lake-motor-speedwayCalvert City, KY-June 13, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would finally get a full night of racing action in at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway as the track and racers endured a pair of short rain delays, but when all was finished, Stormy Scott of Las Cruces, NM would pick up the $5,000 payday and score his first series win and become the 31st different winner in series history and Scott became the sixth different driver to visit victory lane in the 2015 season with the tour.  Scott scored his win in a guest appearance in the seat of the Chad Kinder owned McLane Motors/All Star Performance/Wick Racing Fuel/Quick Car Products/Mark Bush Racing sponsored #22s Bandit by Mark Bush, Mullins Race Engines powered mount.

Josh Harris would take the early race lead in the event and would hold the top spot until Stormy Scott would take the lead on lap 25, but Harris would retake the spot one circuit later, but Scott would not be denied and would make what would be the winning pass on lap 32 in an event that featured three and sometimes four wide racing action throughout the field.  Tyler Nicely would sneak past Harris in the closing laps to claim the runner-up spot, with Harris rounding out the podium finishers with a third place effort.  Trent Young and Matt Cooper would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway A-Main A-Main would be Clayton Miller, Nick Stroupe, Jason Hughes, Tait Davenport, and Lucas Lee.  The 35 lap, $5,000 to win event would be slowed by three caution flags.

In preliminary action, Stormy Scott was the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among 48 entries at 15.748 seconds.  Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Trent Young, while Clayton Miller scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two.  Hypercoils heat three went to Josh Harris, with Matt Cooper winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four.  The Out-Pace Racing Products B-Mains went to Kevin Henderson and Lucas Lee, while Mark Lamont and Jeff Parks were series provisional starters.

The next events for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be on Friday June 26 at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, OH and on Saturday June 27 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.  Both events pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.
