All classes will compete in full race programs; the list includes USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks (full show after makeup feature) Lightning Sprints, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks.

The season championship point races have taken an interesting twist this week in several divisions as Jeremiah Wilson moved ahead in the point’s lead for the Pure Stocks with the 2014 Track Champion, Leroy Morrison just 21 points back.

The Lightning Sprints are indeed lightning-quick at CMS with veteran Hall of Fame driver, Bobby Layne at the top of the point’s battle. Tony Layne is still within striking distance in the early season points. Lightning Sprint drivers received some exciting information this week when CMS announced that drivers will have a three-race miniseries to compete in.

Phil Heavelow of Jayhawk Millwright recently contacted CMS and informed us that he will be putting up $1,000 towards the miniseries. The dates for the miniseries are Saturday, July 18;
Saturday, August 1; and Sunday, September 6.

Drivers must participate in all three events to be eligible for the special top-five pay-out money. The following point schematic will be used for the series: 1st 100 pts, 2nd 98, 3rd 96, 4th 94, 5th 92, 6th 90, 7th 88, 8th 86, 9th 84, 10th 82 (and on down the line dropping by two points each position. The driver who accumulates the most points will be the champion. The top-five payout is: 1st $300, 2nd $250, 3rd $200, 4th $150, 5th $100.

Lightning Sprint drivers will also be eligible for a weekly hard-charger award beginning this week at the track. The award will be known as the Speed Partz Aero Wings Hard-Charger Award. Speed Partz LLC is located in Chambersburg, PA and may be contacted through their email address at sales@speedpartz.com or online at www.speedpartz.com. Aero Wings may be found online at www.aerowingsonline.com. The award will be given to the driver who advances the most position in the main event.
