Diveley, Wietholder, Huls, Phillips and Abbott Seal the Deal In Quincy

quincy 2014Brian Diveley, David Wietholder, Abe Huls, Patrick Phillips and Kimberley Abbott all took feature event wins Sunday July 5 at Quincy Raceways during Heetco Propane Night at the Races.

Brian Diveley picked up his first ever Quincy Raceways Kick Start UMP Super Late Model feature event win as he held off all challengers to take the win. Diveley grabbed the lead on the fifth lap after starting in the fourth row and proceeded to hold the lead until the checkered flag fell on the twenty fifth lap. Justin Reed settled for the second spot with Mark Burgtorf in third, Denny Woodworth in fourth and Jason Perry in fifth. The Heat race winners were Reed and Woodworth

David Wietholder finally got his first feature win of the season in the Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event. Wietholder and Michael Long battled intensely during the opening laps of the twenty five lap feature event but a flat tire forced Long to the pits leaving Wietholder to hold off the charges of Steven DeLonjay and Donovan Lodge over the closing laps with DeLonjay scoring second followed by Rick Conoyer in third, Lodge in fourth and Shawn Deering in fifth. Long and Wietholder were the heat race winners.

Abe Huls picked up his third feature win of the season in the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car division as he grabbed the lead from Michael Larsen on the tenth lap and held off a hard charging Beau Taylor to take the win. Taylor scored second followed by Jim Lynch in third, Michael Larsen in fourth and Jake Powers in fifth. Larsen scored the heat race checkers.

The Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMods had a busy night as they started the evening’s racing action by running the completion of the rained delayed feature event from June 22. Adam Birck laid claim to that feature event checkered flag followed by Austin Howes in second, Joey Gower in third, Nathan Bringer in fourth and Gary Wilson in fifth.

Patrick Phillips grabbed his first feature win the the regular feature event over Brandon Lennox in second, Tony Dunker in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Joey Gower in fifth. Lennox, Dunker and Gower were the heat race winners.

Kimberley Abbott took home her fourth feature win of the year in the IMCA Sport Compact division followed by Brandon Lambert in second, Spencer Coats in third, Jerry Bown in fourth and Darin Weisinger Jr. in fifth. Abbott made it a clean sweep as she also won the heat race.
