Moyer2(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer bagged his fourth special event victory of the 2015 racing season on Friday night, July 3 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois! Billy swept the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals program by clicking off the fastest lap overall during qualifying and winning his heat race. The Batesville, Arkansas star then led from flag-to-flag in the caution-free 50-lap feature to claim his 90th career “Hell Tour” win and the $10,000 payday over son Billy Moyer, Jr., Bobby Pierce, Brian Shirley, and Matt Westfall!

The famed #21 team then followed the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour to Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois on Saturday evening, July 4 to celebrate Independence Day with another $10,000 to win shootout. Billy once again posted the quickest time overall during the qualifying session prior to scoring another heat race triumph. After leading laps 2-24 of the 50-lap headliner, the popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” settled for a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Jason Feger. Complete results from the Summer Nationals weekend can be obtained by clicking on www.thehelltour.com.
“We have had some horrible luck here lately, particularly in some of these Summer Nationals shows,” quoted Moyer this week. “We have been leading or been in contention for some wins and either we get a flat tire or lapped cars cost us or we break a transmission at Fairbury. Hopefully, our luck has changed with that first and second place finish at Fayette County and Highland over the weekend. There are a lot of big money races coming up, so it’s nice to have a little momentum heading into those events.”

Next up for Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) will be visits to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from July 10-12. On Friday night, the tripleheader weekend will kick off with the $10,000 to win ‘Battle at the Beach 50’ at Tri-City Speedway, which will be headlined by a 50-lap main event. At the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday evening, the 9th Annual CMH ‘Diamond Nationals’ will be held and another $10,000 top prize awaits the winner.

When Sunday rolls around in the Show-Me State, the completion of the 23rd Annual Lucas Oil ‘Show-Me 100’ will wrap up a huge weekend of racing action. The final night of the crown jewel extravaganza at the Wheatland, Missouri facility was postponed due to rain back on May 23. When the 100-lapper goes green on Sunday, Billy will have his focus on the $30,000 winner’s share, as he starts the extra-distance affair from the outside of the third row by virtue of winning his heat race back in May. The renowned Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to film all three weekend events for air on multiple television networks later in 2015.
