(Warrensburg, MO) Weekly points-earning events continue this Saturday at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in all divisions. Participating B-Mod drivers have the opportunity to earn not only track points but National USRA B-mod points this weekend. USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks also have a full night of action ahead of them on 610 Sports Radio race night at CMS.

It hardly seems possible but the season is past the halfway point with nine more events dotting the schedule at this time. Last week the track point’s leaders took three of the four main events when National USRA and current track point’s leader Terry Schultz captured his third USRA Modified victory.

Brett Wood kept the bar high with his sixth Street Stock win padding his lead in the division and Jacob Ebert continues to be the driver with the most feature wins in one division this season after picking up his seventh main event last week. Jason Ryun isn’t chasing the points in the Pure Stock division but he captured his division leading fourth main event last weekend.

In just three weeks the track will host the annual Kid’s Night at the speedway. Kids will compete in foot races on the track at intermission time and have the opportunity to win bicycles and backpacks full of school supplies and other surprises.

In addition, each child will receive a free hot dog and drink courtesy of owners and promoters Earl and Susan Walls and every child 12 years and under will go home with a goodie bag stuffed full of donated items from various track sponsors, drivers, fans, and staff members. The CMS staff will stuff bags on the morning of August 1st at the track in the tech barn. All donations should be in before this date; late drop-offs may be delivered to the track by 10 a.m. on August 1.

If you’d like to help out with the annual Kid’s Night event, ask for more information or leave your name with either ticket admission gate personnel. Volunteers should leave their name at the office on the pit side of the speedway and those donating items such as new or used bikes in good repair for boys/girls ages 1 to 12, various school supplies, driver hero cards/pictures, small toys (that can fit in bags), gift certificates, and or coupons should also drop these items off at the pit side office.

If you care to make a personal cash or business donation, CMS will use extra cash to purchase bikes, backpacks, and additional items to fill goodie bags … our goal is no child goes home empty handed! There are several events being planned for kid’s night including an obstacle course! Every foot race winner in the boys/girls age group divisions will receive a medal for their victory!
