Perry, Long, Savage, Dunker and Orwig Hold Quincy Checkered Flags

Jason Perry, Michael Long, Brandon Savage, Tony Dunker and Trent Orwig all took feature event wins during Gardner Denver Night at the Races on Sunday August 9, 2015.

Justin Reed took off during the early stages of the Kick Start UMP Super Late Model feature event with Jason Perry scrambling through the field to hound Reed for the lead. Perry seized his opportunity on the thirteenth lap to get past Reed in turn three. Perry then pulled away for the win four and a half seconds ahead of Reed in second. Mark Burgtorf grabbed third, with Denny Woodworth in fourth and Jamie Wilson in fifth. Perry and Reed were the heat race winners.

Dave Wietholder jumped into the early lead of the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event and held off all challenges until a flat tire during a lap thirteen caution flag sent him to the hot pit to change tires. Michael Long then took over the top spot and cruiser away to take his sixth feature win of the season at Quincy. Steven DeLonjay held on for second followed by Ricky Frankel in third, David Wietholder in fourth and Danny Lake in fifth. Wietholder scored the heat race win.

Brandon Savage shook off the bad luck he has had this season in the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car Division by leading every lap on his way to a dominating victory in the main event. Michael Larsen scored second followed by Abe Huls in fourth and John Oliver Jr. in fifth. Savage made it a clean sweep as he also won the heat race.

Patrick Phillips look to be well on his way to his second feature win of the season in the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod main event but it wasn’t to be as a last lap charge by Tony Dunker sent Dunker under the checkered flag first with Phillips in second, Joey Gower in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Austen Becerra in fifth. Wes Mayfield and Klingele were the heat race winners.

Trent Orwig dominated the IMCA Sport Compact feature event by leading every lap on his way to the checkered flag. Brandon Lambert scored second followed by Kimberly Abbott in third, Jeffery DeLonjay in fourth and Austin McClean in fifth. Orwig alson scored the heat race win.
