Lucas-Oil-Late-Model-Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team were back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series scene on Saturday evening, August 22 at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. A huge crowd and the cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios were on hand to witness the annual running of the $10,000 to win ‘Whiskey City 50.’ Dennis knocked down the twelfth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying prior to running fifth in his stacked heat race.

Following a strong runner-up effort in the B-Main, Dennis started the 50-lap headliner from the outside of the ninth row. The Carpentersville, Illinois star then pointed his Black Diamond Chassis towards the front of the stellar field at the drop of the green in the ‘Whiskey City 50’ and eventually picked off thirteen competitors en route to a fifth place showing. At the checkers, Dennis trailed only winner Scott Bloomquist, Jonathan Davenport, Jimmy Owens, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. He still sits seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following Lawrenceburg. Full results can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The cars and stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, including Dennis Erb, Jr., will descend upon the historic Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania on August 28-29 for the 27th edition of the ‘Pittsburgher 100.’ Qualifying and heat races will be held at the monster 1/2-mile speedplant on Friday night, while the consolation events and the 100-lap feature will trill the PPMS throng on Saturday evening. A stout $20,000 paycheck has been established for the winner of the ‘Pittsburgher 100,’ while each feature starter is assured of at least $1,200.
