Matt Mevert Racing plans to cease operations at the end of this season. Citing the main reason as the lack of time to dedicate enough of his efforts toward the racing program, Matt has decided to discontinue racing at this time. Matt has 3 children that have become increasingly involved in sports and other activities and he would like to dedicate more of his time to seeing them live out their passions. This along with managing the day to day operations at Mevert Automotive and a general desire to spend more time with his family are the primary factors to the decision. “This has been a decision that has taken a lot of time to consider but I truly believe that now is the time for me to make this change. I have been immensely blessed over the years that I have been involved with racing and I owe a lot of people a tremendous thank you for both the work they have done on and in the program and also to those who have supported us in any way. It is the dedication of the people around me that make this a very difficult decision, however one that will be in the best interest of everyone involved.”

Matt would like to especially recognize and thank all those who have crewed and helped with the car or program in any way over the years. The success we have had and the duration that we have done it absolutely could not have been done without the extreme hard work and dedication of the people that have been involved with the program through the years.

Additionally we thank the many sponsors that have supported us through the years. We would like to thank Mark Bush for giving us the best opportunity that we have ever had in racing and Chad Mullins for always going above and beyond to keep our engine program top notch. We refrain from individually listing all the other sponsors going back to when it started in 1996 but please know that each and every one of you in whatever capacity you supported us truly made a difference and were a reason that we were on the track competing.
