Lucas Oil SpeedwayWHEATLAND, MO (October 6th, 2015) – The final racing weekend of the 2015 Lucas Oil Speedway oval track season is this weekend, Friday & Saturday Oct. 9th-10th as the Lucas Oil MLRA and the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks team up for the 2nd Annual Lucas Oil MLRA Fall Nationals and Factory Stock “Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt” plus USRA B-Mods running for National Points both nights.

“This event has the potential to be one of the largest of the season here as Mother Nature has done her part to ensure great weather and car counts in the 150-175 range are expected in the three classes.” stated Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson. “The phone just continues to ring off the hook as fans and drivers alike make plans to make their last pilgrimage of 2015 to Wheatland for the final special event of the season here at Lucas Oil Speedway!”

The Lucas Oil MLRA will run complete shows both nights with a $3,000 to win main event on Friday night and $5,000 to win main on Saturday night, while the Factory Stocks will qualify and run heat races on Friday night before battling it out for 50 laps and $4,000 to win on Saturday. The USRA B-Mods will also be in action running a full show both nights with USRA National Points on the line highlighted by a special $500 to win, 25-lap Main Event on Saturday night.

Hermitage Lumber is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this week with special sales and promotions including bonuses for MLRA Competitors at this weekend’s Lucas Oil MLRA Fall Nationals. Hermitage Lumber will award a total of $2,000 over the course of the two day event.
On Friday night Oct. 9th, the leader of the MLRA main event at lap 20 will receive a bonus check for $500 while the 20th place finisher in the main event will receive an extra $250. On Saturday night Oct. 10th, the MLRA leader at lap 20 will receive a check for $1,000 with the 20th place finisher again receiving an additional $250.

Springfield, Missouri Veteran Terry Phillips leads the Lucas Oil MLRA points standings going into the final weekend by just 44 points over Billings, Missouri’s Jesse Stovall. Phillips has been the model of consistency throughout the season as he leads the points standings despite not visiting Andy’s Frozen Custard MLRA victory lane in 2015. Stovall meanwhile has (8) MLRA wins in 2015 as he has steadily moved up the points standings throughout the season to put pressure on Phillips late in the season.

Columbus Junction, Iowa’s Jason Utter has been a welcome addition to the Lucas Oil MLRA tour in 2015 as he sits solidly in the third spot in his first full season of MLRA racing. A pair of Tucson, Arizona racers not only sit in fourth and fifth in overall points respectively but R.C. Whitwell and Jake O’Neil also sit 1-2 in the race for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year title with only 41 points separating the two heading into the final weekend of racing.

Defending Lucas Oil MLRA Champion, Chad Simpson out of Mount Vernon, IA has slipped back to the sixth spot in 2015 as lady luck has not been on his side throughout the 2015 campaign but with his dominating preliminary win in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned Knoxville Late Model Nationals just two weeks ago, he is always a force to be reckoned with. Fellow Iowa driver, Jason O’Brien holds down the seventh spot, just 10 points in front of the GRT House Car driver Jeremy Payne, who now calls Springfield, Missouri home. Marshalltown, Iowa’s Ryan “The Reaper” Gustin and Griswold, Iowa’s JC Wyman sit 9th and 10th respectively.

In addition to the MLRA as the event headliner, a tremendous amount of buzz continues to surround the $4,000 to win Factory Stock Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt. Terry Schultz won the inaugural event in 2014 on a soggy weekend as the veteran modified driver topped a field of 47 cars. With perfect weather forecast for the weekend, car counts for this event could climb into the 70-80 range as the best Factory Stocks in the country will converge upon Wheatland for their chance to shine at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. Tony Jackson and TJR Motorsports has pledged $200 to the Factory Stock Fast Qualifier on Friday night.
The Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt, featuring the Carson’s Corner Napa Auto Parts Factory Stocks entry fee is $125 payable the day of the race. Entry forms and rules can be downloaded and printed by clicking here.

And last but certainly not least, a strong field of USRA B-Mods are expected to be in attendance as they will compete in complete shows both nights with precious USRA National points on the line. Fort Scott, Kansas’ driver Andy Bryant has competed at Lucas Oil Speedway all season and leads the USRA National Points heading into the final weekend of points racing.
