Bloomquist, Madden, Jameson, and Chilton Win Heats at Ponderosa Speedway’s Fall Classic

Ponderosa SpeedwayJunction City, KY-October 9, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway would contest night one of the 25th Annual Fall Classic on Friday and scattered rain showers throughout the afternoon caused about a one hour delay in getting action going, but all time trials and heats were completed, with four Super Late Model competitors breaking the old track record, while the Modified and KDRA Super Stock track records would also fall.

Four ten lap qualifying heats that would see the top four finishers transfer on to the Fall Classic Saturday evening would be contested for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Collins Signs Super Late Models and Scott Bloomquist would win heat one over Mike Marlar, Justin Rattliff, and Ray Cook. Heat two would see Chris Madden victorious over Eric Wells, Jimmy Owens, and Mason Zeigler. Heat three would be captured by Jason Jameson over Dustin Linville, Josh Rice, and Tommy Bailey. The fourth and final heat would be scored by Michael Chilton over Greg Johnson, Kent Robinson, and Cody Mahoney. Mike Marlar would establish a new track record in time trials with a lap of 12.604 seconds. Two fifteen lap B-Mains will set the remainder of the starting grid tomorrow evening. The four heat race winners will redraw to set the first two rows for the Super Late Model A-Main event.

In Modified action, three ten lap qualifying heats were contested that saw the top six finishers transfer to the Modified A-Main of the Fall Classic on Saturday evening. Matt Cooper would win heat one over Victor Lee, Blake Brown, Tyler Nicely, J.T. Ayers, and Cameron Marlar. Heat two would go to Jimmy Payne over Keith Smith, David Webb, Dennis Roberson, Cody Smith, and Shawn Hibbard. The third and final heat would be won by Michael England over Lucas Lee, Preston Seratt, Bryan Barber, Jeff Watson, and Kevin Nesselhauf. Matt Cooper established a new Modified qualifying track record at 14.136 seconds. One twelve lap B-Main will set the remainder of the starting field for tomorrow evening’s Modified A-Main.

The Pro Late Model division would contest four ten lap qualifying heats that would transfer the top four finishers to the Pro Late Model A-Main on Saturday. Heat one saw Brandon Williams victorious over Adam Bowman, Grant Garrison, and Alan Magner. Heat two would be claimed by Connor Meader over Joe Godsey, Elliott Despain, and Jake Henry. Ray Cook would score the win in heat three over Jeremy Hines, Todd Coffman, and Johnny Wheeler. Tait Davenport would hit paydirt in the fourth and final heat over Matt Henderson, Zane Powell, and Josh Fields. Brandon Williams was top qualifier at 13.792 seconds. Two twelve lap B-Mains will set the remainder of the starting field for the Pro Late Model A-Main tomorrow evening.

The American Dirt Allstars KDRA Super Stocks would compete in three eight lap qualifying heat and transfer the top six finishers to the Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial tomorrow evening. Colby Taylor would win heat one over Robby Perkins, Allen Hackworth, Jr., Pherman Stewart, Faron Robinson, and Chad Barrett. Heat two would be captured by Eddie Stewart over Chad Boone, Nathaniel Mullins, Kevin Greer, Reggie Ritchie, and Sarah Patrick. Heat three would be won by Jamey Adams over Bartley Grant, Glen Hounshell, Jr., Terry Cheeks, Derek Bottoms, and James Crowe. Robby Perkins would set a new track record in time trials at 15.070 seconds. One ten lap B-Main will set the remainder of the starting field for the Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial event tomorrow evening.

The 25th Annual Fall Classic will conclude on Saturday October 10 the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will race for $25,000 to win in the Fall Classic A-Main, with Modifieds racing for $5,000 to win in their A-Main. The Pro Late Models will contest a $2,500 to win A-Main, while the American Dirt Allstars KDRA Super Stocks will race for $2,000 to win in the Bobby Carrier, Sr. Memorial. In additions, a full program for the Four Cylinder division will also take place, with $500 to win that event. All gates will open at 4:00 p.m., with a drivers autograph session at 5:30 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m., followed by racing action.
