American-Modified-SeriesUnion, KY- October 25, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series 6th Annual Season Championship would be delayed one day by inclement, but would take place on Sunday at Florence Speedway in Union, KY and Kyle Strickler of Mooresville, NC would take the win and sweep the weekend’s event and claim the $5,000 payday. Strickler’s win would come behind the wheel of his Cedar Peaks Enterprises/Lethal Chassis/BSB Manufacturing/TomCat Performance/All Star Performance sponsored #8 Lethal Chassis powered by a Vasselnuick Engine Development powerplant in the 40 lap event that featured three different leaders and nine lead changes..

Strickler would lead the first three laps before Devin Gilpin would take the lead and hold it for the two circuits before Strickler would retake the lead on lap 6, only to have Gilpin snatch the lead back on lap 7. Strickler would again work past Gilpin on lap 9 as the pair would battle side-by-side for the lead until Gilpin reclaimed the top spot on lap 15. Gilpin would then begin to work slower traffic and would pull away from Strickler until disaster struck for Gilpin with 27 laps completed when he and a lapped car would tangle on the backchute and end his evening. This would give the lead back to Strickler until lap 30 when Lucas Lee would claim the top spot and lead until Strickler once again claimed the top spot on lap 32. Strickler would survive four late race cautions to see the checkered flag first, followed at the finish by Josh Harris, 2015 series champion Clayton Miller, Brian Shaw, and 17th starting Brandon Green.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the 6th Annual Season Championship A-Main would be Tyler Nicely, Danny Schwartz, Mark Lamont, Tait Davenport, and Dennis Roberson. The 40 lap, $5,000 to win event would slowed by five caution periods, with one of those resulting in a red flag.

In preliminary action, Kyle Strickler was the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among 42 entries at 18.218 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Strickler, while Clayton Miller scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two. Hypercoils heat three went to Matt Cooper, with Lucas Lee winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four. The Out-Pace Racing Products B-Mains went to Brandon Green and Keith Smith. Series provisional starters were John Clippinger and Ryan Morton, while Brandon Ramsey earned the track starting provisional.
