Lucas Oil SpeedwayBy Lyndal Scranton – Wheatland, Missouri (March 18, 2016) – As one of America’s premier motorsports destinations, Lucas Oil Speedway continues to be committed to the total fan experience. Based on fan feedback, the facility will move toward becoming a non-smoking facility.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson announced this week that smoking will not be allowed inside any facility buildings beginning with the 2016 season. This includes the Diamond Cafe Concession Stand, Track Treasures Gift Shop, VIP Suites (inside only), Parts Store, Restrooms and the Diamond Bar.

Robinson added that beginning with the 2017 season, smoking will be prohibited in all grandstand seating areas and in any lines for goods and services. The exception will be the outside seating area located just in front of the VIP Suites.

“Racing facilities, sports stadiums and entertainment venues across the nation, almost exclusively, have policies with smoking allowed only in designated areas,” Robinson said. “Many of our fans have expressed a desire for this sort of policy at Lucas Oil Speedway. At the same time, our customers who do smoke will be provided designated areas throughout the facility to do so in 2017.

“At Lucas Oil Speedway, we’re committed to being the best guest fan experience in short-track racing and we always welcome and listen to feedback from our fans. We’re looking forward to another outstanding season that gets going in a few short weeks.”

Lucas Oil Speedway’s season fires up April 8-9 with the Lucas Oil MLRA Spring Nationals with the Budweiser Weekly Championship Series starting April 16.
