Lucas Oil SpeedwayWheatland, Missouri (April 12, 2016) – After an action-packed opening weekly that featured the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models Spring Nationals, it’s time to wave the green flag on the Budweiser Weekly Championship Series at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Saturday’s regular-season opener, presented by KOZL 27, will find all four classifications in action for the first of 13 weekly programs that will culminate in track champions being crowned.

“We had a great weekend with the 3rd annual Spring Nationals and now we’re pumped to get started with the Budweiser Weekly Championship Series,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. “We have a tremendously talented and loyal group of drivers who compete with us on a weekly basis and I know our fans are as eager as I am to follow them on the road to crowning Lucas Oil Speedway track champions in the fall.”

A couple of classes got a jump start as part of the Spring Nationals doubleheader program. Terry Schultz of Sedalia scored a sweep in the Pitts Home USRA Modified division with Derek Brown of Stoutland and Burl Woods of Republic taking wins in the Carson’s Corner NAPA Street Stocks.

Now it’s time for the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models and Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods to join in. The Late Models are the featured division this week, running for $1,000 to win courtesy of ALPS Food Store in Pittsburg, Mo.
