Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Returns to Tri-City Speedway for Budweiser 50 on April 29th

TCS Logo - flagsGRANITE CITY, IL (April 26, 2016) – The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series return to Tri City Speedway on Friday night, April 29th, for the annual Budweiser 50. A complete show is on tap, which includes: Hot Laps, Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $10,000 to win, 50-lap main event. Other divisions in competition on April 29th include the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, competing for $1,000-to-win and Willie’s Tires B-Modifieds.

Activities will get underway with Pit Gates opening at 2:00pm, followed by Grandstand Gates opening at 5:00pm. A mandatory drivers meeting is set to take place at 6:00pm with Hot Laps slated for 6:30pm. Ticket prices in the General Admission area will be $30 for adults with Children ages 12 and under admitted for FREE. A pit pass is $35.

The Budweiser girls will be on hand at the front gate handing out Koozie’s to the first 100 race fans in General Admission along with giveaways throughout the night on the Midway. Kids 12 & under will get to participate in opening ceremonies lining up along the front chute waving to the drivers with light up sticks. Race fans get to experience a meet & greet right after the race with the Feature winner alongside his car on the midway in the Fan Zone Victory Lane.

The nation’s top Dirt Late Model drivers and regional stand-outs are expected to battle it out at the 3/8-mile dirt oval. Included among those are: 2015 National Champion, Jonathan Davenport; three-time Champion, Jimmy Owens; two-time Champion, Scott Bloomquist; four-time Champion, Earl Pearson Jr.; Don O’Neal; Steve Frances; Jared Landers; Darrell Lanigan; Tim McCreadie and more! The competition level from the local driver’s brings for a great event for the fans with Michael Kloos, Tim Manville, Billy Laycock, Kolby Vandenburgh, Gordy Gundaker, Jim Schereck, Casey Montague and more! Last year’s Bud 50 found Tri City Speedway’s fan favorite and last year’s Track Champion Billy Laycock setting overall fast time and this year the return of Billy Faust who ran 3rd in a previous Lucas Oil Late Model event at Tri City.

In 2015, Scott Bloomquist pocketed the $10,000 for his triumph in a thriller over second place finisher, Earl Pearson Jr. Brandon Sheppard finished third, followed by Don O’Neal, and Steve Francis rounding out the top five.

Founded in 2005, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is the nation’s premier dirt late model sanctioning organization, sanctioning 53 events across 19 states in 2016. The series is owned by the parent company Lucas Oil Products Inc. and receives national exposure through a TV package filmed, produced, and edited by Lucas Oil Production Studios. Multiple Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events will broadcast on five TV Networks in 2016 including CBS, NBC Sports, CBS Sports Network, MAVTV Motorsports Network, and the all-new Lucas Oil Racing TV.
