POWRi/ILLINI D-II Midgets Start Off Month of May at Lincoln

Lincoln Speedway_LogoBelleville, IL – After a successful month of April for the Lucas Oil POWRi ILLINI Division II Midget Series, the series sets its sights on a stacked month of May. Friday, May 6th the D II will be at Lincoln Speedway for the Mother’s Day Special before heading to Sycamore Speedway on Saturday, May 7th.

Friday, May 13th the D II will be back at Jacksonville Speedway and Friday, May 20th the D II will be at Lincoln Speedway with the All Star Sprints for the D II’s third appearance of nine in 2016. Monday, May 30th the D II will round out the month of May at Macon Speedway for the Night of NASCAR Stars.

As if the month of May wasn’t action packed enough, the month of June will attempt to top May’s action with the inaugural appearance of the Lucas Oil POWRi ILLINI Division II Midget Series during Illinois SPEED Week with the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget Series and the Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series for five straight nights of racing.

Heading into the month of May, Patrick Bruns has a 50 point lead over Tyler Vantoll in the Lucas Oil POWRi ILLINI Division II Midget Series standings. Hunter Lane sits in third with a 30 point advantage over Adam Taylor. Shane Morgan rides in fifth.
