Scheid Diesel Steps Up Involvement At Terre Haute Action Track
June 19 Event To Be Presented By Company

The Terre Haute Action Track kicks back into high gear next Sunday, June 19 at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. The Hi99 FM/Scott’s Custom Colors Father’s Day Special now has a presenting sponsor and it’s a company already highly involved with a show at the facility. The fun evening of racing will feature the Indiana Late Model Series, based out of Brownstown, IN, in addition to the Summit Nationals Modified event for the Scott’s Custom Colors UMP Modifieds.

Just today, it has been announced by Track Enterprises, the promotion company of the Terre Haute Action Track, that Scheid Diesel has stepped up its involvement at the facility by becoming a presenting sponsor of the Father’s Day Special. Scheid Diesel is well known for the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza, which will take place for the 20th year, on August 26-28 at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. Attendance for that show exceeds 15,000 on a yearly basis.

Scheid Diesel opened in 1982 with five employees in Terre Haute, IN. A second location opened in 1990 in Effingham, IL before the Lafayette, IN location opened in 1999. All three locations have a fuel injection shop as well as a dedicated drive-in service area. The company has grown every year to its present 50 employees and is still growing. They can service any diesel engine including, but not limited to agricultural, construction, heavy duty truck, and automotive. Scheid Diesel has also made its mark in the performance market with tractor and pickup truck pulling and diesel drag racing.

The Sunday, June 19th event at the Terre Haute Action Track will see a first time visit for the Indiana Late Model Series. The tour has a home base of Brownstown Speedway in Indiana and has been drawing great car counts in upwards of 30 per race. It’s the only Late Model event on the 2016 schedule at the 1/2-mile facility.

The other headlining class is the Scott’s Custom Colors UMP Modified division, running in the Summit Modified Nationals. It’s one of the first events on this year’s grueling Summit Nationals schedule, which will draw some of the best in the region, looking for valuable points and the $1,000 check. Rounding out the slate of events that day will be a special visit from the Terre Haute Quarter Midget Club. They will have a picnic on the infield and their youngsters will do a lap at intermission around the 1/2-mile.

Sunday, June 19 pit gates will open at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, drivers meetings will be held at 5:30, and hotlaps will begin at 6:00. Racing action is set to take the green at 7:00. General admission is $15, infield admission $10, and kids 10 and under are free.
