(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Following their epic ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ triumph the previous weekend, Dennis Erb, Jr. and the #28 team were back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail on June 17-18 in the annual running of the ‘Clash at the Mag’ at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Due to strong thunderstorms on Friday, the two-day extravaganza was condensed into a single-day shootout on Saturday paying $12,000 to the winner. Dennis knocked down the eleventh fastest lap in Group B during the time trial session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race.
After starting the 60-lap main event from the outside of the fifth row, Dennis methodically worked his way forward during the caution-free affair. At the checkers, Dennis found himself in the sixth finishing position behind only race winner Darrell Lanigan, Jimmy Owens, Brandon Sheppard, Scott Bloomquist, and Jared Landers. The Carpentersville, Illinois star still sits seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings exiting Magnolia. With no rest for the weary, Dennis Erb Racing is set to tackle a full week of UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals action from June 21-26 in the states of Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana. In all and weather pending, six “Hell Tour” dates are planned for this week starting later tonight at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois.
