American-Modified-SeriesFlorence, KY (June 25, 2016)- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series returned to action on Saturday evening at Florence Speedway in Union, KY and the race would see Josh Harris of Utica, KY claim the victory in the 30 lap, $1,500 to win event aboard the Scott Clippinger owned Lucas Oil Center/Ted Brown’s Quality Paint and Body, All Star Performance/T&E Auto Sales/NFP Clippinger Financial Group sponsored #16 Bandit by MBR, SPEC Race Engines powered mount.

Brian Shaw would take the lead at the start of the event, with Trent Young nipping at his heels, with Young taking the lead on lap 5. The caution would wave on lap 6 when John Holt, Jr. stopped on the track and Young would duck into the work area with a flat tire, giving the lead back to Shaw. Shaw would lead only one more circuit before caution waved again and Shaw’s machine would go to the infield, finished for the night. Josh Harris would inherit the race lead at this point, with Joey Kramer taking second from Brandon Green and Jimmy Payne would also join the fray, with this trio racing three-wide several times for the runner-up slot, with Kramer finally winning this battle by lap 20. Harris would encounter slower traffic, allowing Kramer to close in to challenge for the spot by lap 23. After one final caution on lap 25, Green would attempt to slidejob Harris and Kramer for the lead on the restart, but to no avail. Harris would keep Kramer at bay in the final few circuits to score the victory, with Kramer and Green completing the podium positions. Young would battle back from his early race flat tire to finish fourth, while Payne would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Florence Speedway A-Main would be J.T. Ayers, Clayton Miller, Ryan Morton, Colin Green, and John Holt, Jr. The event would slowed by four caution periods.

In preliminary action, Joey Kramer was the Quick Car Racing Products top qualifier among 37 entries at 18.180 seconds.
