Sunday Event Is Makeup Date From Wednesday Rainout

The USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars are preparing for their final leg of the 2016 Indiana Sprint Week. Originally, the final night was scheduled for Saturday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN, however, rain at the Terre Haute IN Action Track on Wednesday postponed the event to Sunday, July 17. The 2016 Sprint Week Champ will now be crowned on Sunday evening at the Vigo County Fairgrounds racetrack.

The first half of Indiana Sprint Week was completed without any weather issues, as events at Gas City, Kokomo, and Lawrenceburg were run last weekend. It was Wednesday, where weather wreaked havoc in Western Indiana. On Thursday night, USAC traveled to Putnamville, IN’s Lincoln Park Speedway before heading to Bloomington, IN on Friday night. The final two races are set for Tri-State and the rescheduled Terre Haute.

Winners this week are Tyler Courtney (Gas City), Kyle Cummins (Kokomo), Bryan Clauson (Lawrenceburg), Brady Short (Lincoln Park), and Brent Beauchamp (Bloomington). Fields have been in upwards of 50 at each of the events so far this week, with stout fields expected at Tri-State Saturday and Terre Haute Sunday.

Times on Sunday remain unchanged from the Wednesday event with pits opening at 3:00, grandstands at 4:00, hotlaps at 6:30, ProSource Qualifying at 7:00, and racing at 7:30. Wristbands from the pits will be accepted as rain checks but must be turned in on Sunday to receive admission to the event.

Grandstand admission will be $25 for adults, $15 for infield admission, and ages 10 and under are free. There will be no parking fees on Sunday.
