By Lyndal Scranton – Wheatland, Missouri (August 10, 2016) – Motorsports is under threat and those who love it – fans, drivers, sponsors and track owners – are invited to band together to protect the future of the sport.

Lucas Oil Speedway and the Lucas Oil MLRA have partnered with the United States Motorsports Association (USMA) to ensure motorsports’ continued presence in the threat of government regulation.

The USMA is putting together the first-ever national Motorsports Impact Report (MIR). Research has begun and the report will be released next year. Following its release the USMA will be conducting a national tour introducing the data to local, state and federal elected officials, as we continue to advocate for competitive racing in all forms, at all levels, across all 50-states.

According to Shawn Stewart, executive director of the USMA, recent issues such as the EPA’s overstepping of regulations are one example as a threat to motorsports along with noise, environmental and tax issues. Stewart said best practices and accurate data are needed for the industry to be successful in the future with the Motorsports Impact Report (MIR) is a major step in providing clear data to talk about the economic benefits of motorsports.

Please join Lucas Oil Speedway and the Lucas Oil MLRA and take a minute to become a member of the USMA and petition for Motorsports in America. Everyone can advocate. It’s fast, FREE, and powerful.

“This is an important cause and one that we fully support,” said Dan Robinson, Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager and Lucas Oil MLRA Series Director. “By taking a minute to sign up with the USMA, you can make a difference in making sure that the sport we all love will be here not only for ourselves, but for future generations.”

The USMA is also giving away a Custom Full Size Truck or Polaris RZR. By becoming a Registered Member of the USMA you will be automatically entered to win.
