David Stremme Takes Summit Racing Equipment AMS Flag at Farmer City Raceway

By Michael Despain – Farmer City, IL (September 2, 2016)- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series kicked off the Labor Day weekend trifecta of racing with a visit to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL on Friday September 2 and former NASCAR competitor and the builder of Lethal Chassis David Stremme of Davidson, NC would claim his first-ever win with the series in the Lethal Chassis sponsored #35 machine.

Ray Bollinger would lead early before David Stremme would begin to challenge around lap 8 and the duo would be joined another NASCAR standout in Kenny Wallace and Mike Harrison, with this quartet waging a classic battle for the lead, with Stremme able to hang on to the lead after taking the lead for good on lap 11.  Bollinger, Wallace, and Harrison would battle three-wide for much of the remainder of the event for second, with Stremme getting the win, while Wallace would win the three-way dance for runner-up, while Harrison and Bollinger would take third and fourth.  Brent Mullins would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Farmer City Raceway A-Main would be Jeffrey Ledford, Steven Brooks, Adam Weisser, Josh Harris, and Trent Young.  The event would slowed by only one caution flag.

In preliminary action, Jay Ledford was the Quick Car Racing Products top qualifier among 41 entries at 14.148 seconds.  Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Jeffrey Ledford, while Mike Harrison scored the win in Fast Shafts heat two.  Hypercoils heat three went to David Stremme, with Ray Bollinger winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four.  The Out-Pace Racing Products B-Mains were won by Jesse Wisecarver and Shannon Babb, while Mark Lamont and Dave Mitchell would be the series provisional starters.
