Racing has begun at Gateway Motorsports Park for the 5th annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals. The stands are packed  and weather will be a factor in today’s racing. The track temperatures are 122 degrees, over 20 degrees hotter that Friday’s second session. Keep checking back for updates.

Pro Stock
Shane Gray switched places with Friday night leader, Greg Anderson, for top spot in Pro Stock. Gray’s run was 6.604ET / 209.65 mph just edging Anderson’s 6.605 ET / 209.56.
Pro Stock Motorcycle
Chip Ellis held on to the top spot after the 1st run Saturday, but there was a lot of movement in the spots below him.
Angelle Sampey took her Buell XB12R to second place with a 6.851 / 195.87 mph.
Top Fuel
No changes in the top five. Richie Crampton still holds the top spot based on his Friday night run of 3.733 ET / 323.50 MPH. Brittany Force was able to move up from 7th to 6th with 3.778 ET / 323.35 mph.
Funny Car
The warm weather played havoc on the nitro cars and Robert Hight was able to keep the Funny Car pole with one more session to be completed later today.
