Stormy Scott

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 4) — It took him 20 races to get his first of the year, and now Stormy Scott has won two of the last three United States Modified Touring Series main events after an impressive wire-to-wire win at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway Thursday night.

After receiving the Sybesma Graphics Pole Award, Scott led Cade Dillard the entire 40-lap distance to garner his 39th career USMTS victory and pocket the $3,000 winner’s share of the prize money.

Dillard, who closed to within two car-lengths late in the feature race, had to settle for the runner-up paycheck while Zack VanderBeek held off Jason Hughes and R.C. Whitwell for the other podium spot.

Chris Brown finished sixth and Ryan Gustin earned the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award for finishing seventh from the 16th starting spot. Triston Dycus, Dereck Ramirez and Joe Duvall completed the top 10.

USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental rolls on down the highway to the west on Friday as the series makes its maiden voyage to the West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas, for another $3,000-to-win main event in the Summit Racing Equipment Southern Region presented by Production Jars.
