St. Francois County Raceway Results – 5/13/17

By Christopher Boyd – Hello race fans! This is your Race Recap for May 13th, 2017 at St. Francois County Raceway. This recap is brought to you by Hardeeā€™s. Our Special Event for Intermission for this fourth night of racing was Power Wheels racing. The Power Wheels includes ages 2-6. The event is divided into two heat races separated by age group and then all the kids run together for the feature. The heat races are two laps a piece then the feature is three laps. Heat race number one included the 2-4 year olds and was won by Jimmy Miller. Heat race number two was 5-6 year olds and was won by Corbin Adams. The three lap feature was won by Jimmy Miller. Now for the rest of the racing action from Saturday night.

Up first for night number four of action packed racing was the Super Street class. The Super Streets had 15 cars in attendance divided into two heat races. Heat race number one had eight cars scheduled to take the green flag but only seven cars did. Of those seven cars, Dom Wadlow finished in first place in the number 30w car from the sixth starting position. Finishing behind him was the 11 car of Matt Brown while Tony Wyatt brought his 67 car across the finish line in third place.

Heat race number two had seven cars scheduled to take the green flag with Jason Neel taking the win in the 94n car. Finishing in second place was Joe Merritt in the 71 car while Grant Wadlow finished in third place from the sixth starting position in the number 30 car.

The main event had 15 cars scheduled to start the race but only 14 cars took the green flag and only eight of them crossed the finish line. Finishing in first was the number 11 of Matt Brown with Dom Wadlow finishing in second place in the 30w car. The third place finisher, all the way from the thirteenth starting position, was the 99 of Chuck Adams. With that finish, Adams picked up the BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award for passing the most cars, 10 cars to be exact. Fourth place went to the 30 car of Grant Wadlow with Robert Hicks finishing in fifth place in the 32 car.

Running second on the night was the B-Modified class. There were 25 B-Modified in attendance divided into four heat races. Heat number had seven cars take the green flag with Eddie Gross finishing in first place in his 4g car. Finishing in second was the 05 of Mike Savage while Josh Hauf raced from the sixth starting position to a third place finish in the 25h car.

Heat number two had six cars take the green flag. Jeremy Welborn crossed the line in first place in his 27w car with Lou Driemeier finishing in second place in the 3d car from the sixth starting position. Bringing his car across the finish line in third place was the 27j of Johnny Crump.

Heat race number three also had six cars scheduled to take the green flag. Mike Williams took the checkered flag in the 5b car with Chasten Boen finishing in second place in the 21 car. Third place went to the 8g1 of Josh Gibson.

Heat number four had six cars take the green flag as well. Finishing in first place, from the third starting position, was the 25 car of Patrick DeNoyer. Second place went to Buddy Lowry in the number 8 car while Corey Womack finished in third place in the 30cr.

The main event 21 cars scheduled to take the green flag since four of the original 25 cars scratched on the night. Upon the start of the race, only 20 cars took the green flag. Finishing on top of the rest was the 27w of Jeremy Welborn after a hard fought race with Lou Driemeier, who finished in second, in the 3d car. Third place went to Eddie Gross in the 4g car while Josh Hauf finished in fourth place in the 25h car from the ninth place starting position. Finishing in fifth place was Patrick DeNoyer in the 25 car. The BSB Manufacturing Go Fast Award winner for the B-Modifieds was Jeff Whitter for starting in the seventeenth position and passing 10 cars to finish seventh.

Up next on the night was the Sprint Car class. There were 18 Sprint Cars in attendance divided into 3 heat races. The first heat race had six cars scheduled to start but only five took the green flag. Finishing on top of them all was the 88 of Jeff Wurst after starting in the fourth starting position. Finishing in second was Scottie Gretzmacher in the 99g while Dustin Adams finished in third in the 3 car.
Heat number two had six cars take the green flag with Joey Boyd finishing in first in the 67 car. Kevin Petty took second place in the 72 car while Robbie Standridge finished in third place in the 17*.
Heat race number three also had six cars take the green flag. Bringing the 7c car across the line in first place was Tommy Worley Jr. while Ryan Kempin finished in second in the 2k. Finishing in third place was the 87 of Kent Buckley.

The top two from each heat race run the dash to see who starts where in the front few rows. Winning the dash was Tommy Worley Jr. in the 7c car with Jeff Wurst finishing in second place in the 88 car. Third place went to Ryan Kempin in the 2k car.

The main event for the Sprint Cars had 18 cars take the green flag. The race was action packed from start to finish and pulling off the Triple Crown was Tommy Worley Jr. in the 7c car with Dustin Adams finishing in second place in the 3 car. Third place went to Robbie Standridge in the 17* after a tough battle with Kevin Petty in the 72. Petty finished fourth. Fifth place went to Ryan Kempin in the 2k. The Hard Charger Award winner was Dustin Barks in the 22 car after starting eighteenth, passing eleven cars and finishing in seventh.

The last class on the night was the A-Modified class. There were 13 A-Modifieds in attendance divided into two heat races. The first heat race had seven cars take the green flag. Taking the win was the 56 car of Jeff Asher with Kodi Savage finishing in second in the 25s after starting in the fifth starting position. Mike Savage crossed the finish line in third place in the 13 car.

Heat race number two had six cars take the green flag with Tim Nash taking the win in the number 7 car after starting in the fifth position. In second place, from the sixth starting position was the 14 of Billy Smith. Randy Forster crossed the line in third place in the r7 car.

The main event for the A-Modifieds was a constant battle for the win with Billy Smith coming out on top in the 14 car by less than a car length over second place finisher Tim Nash in the 7 car. Third place went to Kodi Savage in the 25s car with Jeff Asher in the 56 crossing the line in fourth. Finishing in fifth place was the 13 of Mike Savage. The BSB Manufacturing Award winner for the A-Modified class was the number 7 of Tim Nash for passing three cars.
