Plenty On Tap For Coziahr Harley Night At Macon Speedway
Bikers, Diesel Truck Owners, & Little Leaguers To Benefit

(Macon, IL) After a couple of weeks of open wheel racing, Macon Speedway gets back to many of the familiar divisions this coming Saturday, June 17.  Plenty of walks of life will be on the premises this week, as Coziahr Harley Davidson and Pabst Blue Ribbon present Bikers, Diesel Truck, and Little League Night.  Meanwhile, six divisions of racing will be on track.

Being that it is Coziahr Harley Davidson night, Bikers from all over will be joining in the “Ride To The Races”.  The ride will leave Coziahr at 4:30.  Bikers that participate in the ride, will have their tickets purchased by Coziahr at the gate.

Another way to get to the races is by diesel truck.  Macon Speedway will be having a Show & Shine in the parking lot for diesel trucks, starting at 5:00.  A diesel truck parade lap will also take place at intermission.  Those who participate with their diesel trucks will receive free admission for themselves and one guest.

Macon Speedway will also be honoring youth baseball players with Little League night.  All kids 13 and under and wearing their uniform, will receive free admission to the grandstands.

In honor of Pabst Blue Ribbon being a presenting sponsor, a special PBR Happy Hour will take place between 5:00-7:00, featuring $2 cans.

On track, fans will be treated to the UMP Pro Late Models, where Blue Mound, IL driver Jeff Reed, Jr. leads the points.  While consistency has put him on top, Cody Maguire, Tommy Sheppard, Jr., Jake Little and Rudy Zaragoza complete the top five.

The Billingsley Elite Wash UMP Modifieds will be on track again after an exciting feature last Saturday.  Mason City, IL’s Austin Lynn leads the standings in the class, which boasts some very talented drivers week-after-week.  Last year’s champion, Curt Rhodes, is second, while Brian Lynn, Alan Crowder, and Danny Smith finish off the top five.

After a two-week layoff, the UMP B-Mods will be back on track.  The point leader is last year’s champion, Tim Hancock, from Mt. Olive, IL.  Tom Riech, Cody Stillwell, Jerry Thompson, and Tim Riech are the top five competitors early in the season.

It’s been a while since the UMP Sportsman have been in action at Macon as well.  This week, Argenta, IL’s Danny Smith leads the cars back on track.  Smith has Timmy Dick, Scott Landers, Rick Roedel, and Terry Myers behind him as top challengers.

It’s a tight battle at the top of the UMP Street Stock standings, as Boody, IL driver Shawn Ziemer leads the way.  Ziemer has had a solid season so far but so has Brian Dasenbrock, who trails by just ten points.  Neither has won a feature.  Jason Scrimpsher, Jeremy Nichols, and Darrell Dick complete the top five.

Rounding out the on track action will be the UMP Hornets in their final tune-up before the big $1,000 to win Hornet Challenge next weekend.  Dustin Reed leads the points with Cook Crawford, Ryan Cantrell, Marty Sullivan, and Adam Webb in the top five.

Pit gates open this Saturday at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, pill draw ends when the drivers meeting begins at 5:50, hotlaps begin at 6:00, and racing will take the green at 7:00.  Grandstand admission is just $12, while kids 11 and under are free.
