Peoria Speedway
Peoria, IL – September 22, 2017 – The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would visit Peoria Speedway in Peoria, IL for the first night of the two-night 3rd Annual Fall Classic and Mike Harrison of Highland, IL would pick up his series-leading fifth tour victory of the season as he would take the checkered flag first in the 40 lap, $3,000 to win main event.

Danny Schwartz would take the lead at the drop of the green flag, but a tangle involving Josh Allen and Billy Puckett on lap two would slow the action. Mike Chasteen, Jr. would lead lap two on the restart, but Schwartz would retake the top spot one trip later and Schwartz and Chasteen, Jr. would settle into a side-by-side battle for the race lead, while fifth place starting Mike Harrison would start rolling the top side toward the front and would grab the race lead on lap thirteen. Harrison’s pace at the point would be slowed on lap sixteen when Ray Bollinger would loop his machine in turn three, however, Harrison would again be steady out front until Bollinger would slow again on lap twenty to draw the caution flag with a flat left rear tire. As the field was set to see the green flag wave again, Billy Puckett and Austin Simpson would tangle in turn four coming to the green flag to negate the restart. Back underway, Harrison would pull away from the field and was unchallenged for the lead, but a late-race caution on lap thirty-five for a slowed Joe Wagner in turn four would tighten up the field and set up a sprint to the finish. Harrison would be outstanding again on the restart and drive away again and claim the victory. Danny Schwartz would finish in the second position, while Steven Brooks would finish third. Mike McKinney would finish fourth, while Ray Bollinger would recover from his flat tire to finish fifth.

The remainder of the top ten finishers at the completion of the 3rd Annual Fall Classic Night One A-Main would be Mike Chasteen, Jr., Brian Shaw, Josh Harris, hard-charger Nick Neville, and Josh Allen.

The next event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be Saturday September 23 at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, IL for the concluding night of the 3rd Annual Fall Classic, paying $5,000 to win and $250 to start.
