Central Missouri Speedway Extreme Action Race Report – Schultz, Mullins, Raffurty, Smith, and Detherage Roll to CMS Feature Race Wins!

(Warrensburg, MO) Topnotch excitement and close action once again thrilled the crowd at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) for Seeburg Muffler race night. Extreme Action Athlete Drivers were 87 drivers strong for the night’s competition with 18 Modifieds, 13 Street Stocks, 21 Mod-Lites, 19 B-Mods, and 15 Pure Stocks on hand for preliminary events and A-main features.

Preliminary Action Recap: The Pure Stock drivers began the night with a pair of heat races with David Doelz and Jaren Powrie claiming the wins. Brad Smith, Jacob Ebert and Jim Moody grabbed B-Mod heat wins as Donnie Dannar, David Raffurty and Justin Raffurty drove to the Mod-Lite heat victories. Street Stocks had Michael Mullins and Larry Ferris claiming the heat-race victories while Modifieds finished the heat-race action for the night with Terry Schultz, Jim Moody, and Chad Lyle claiming the victories.

Main Events Recap: When the feature events saw drivers return to the track, it was former champion Rodger Detherage who claimed the Pure Stock win for his seventh-career CMS win. In B-Mod action, Brad Smith claimed his third CMS feature this season and his 31st CMS career win. Dillon Raffurty continued his dominating ways and collected his third Mod-Lite win in a row and eleventh career CMS win while in the Street Stock division, Michael Mullins grabbed his second CMS win this season and fifth-career CMS victory. Terry Schultz grabbed the lead from the start of the Modified main event for career win number 63 and his second victory of the year at CMS after a hard-fought race with Tim Karrick.

Championship Racing continues next Saturday, June 23rd for Midwest Coating  Race Night, featuring Modifieds, Street Stocks, Mod-Lites, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks. For complete information head to the CMS website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net. Pit Gates open at 4:30 followed by Spectator Grandstands at 5. Driver pill-draw ends at 6:15, the pit meeting takes place at 6:30, practice ‘hot laps’ begin at 7, and racing begins at 7:30. Adult general admission is $12, Active Military and Senior Citizens ages 65 to 74 $10, Kids ages 6 to 12 are $6. Seniors 75 and over and patrons permanently confined to a wheelchair are free in the grandstands. All pit passes regardless of age are $30. Information subject to change for special events.

Check the website for the special events tab titled “CMS BBQ BOWL.” We will post information regarding the big-money weekend, which includes the $5,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start Modified special plus the two-day Mod-Lite track special event. The weekend starts on Saturday, June 30th and continues Sunday, July 1st.
