Next Race – September 8th, 2018 Lebanon Midway Speedway “Bud Perry Memorial”

After a 3-4 car battle up front, Justin Wells goes top side to get around leader Michael Maggard and pulled away for the win leaving a 4 cat battle for the runner up spot. Simon and Maggard redrew the front row and swapped the top spot. Only 1 caution waved in the 30 lap feature on The “Quick-Quarter”. A series record 31 cars checked into the pits and gave the crowd a great racing program.

USRA B Modifieds presented by Reliable Chevrolet
1) Jackie Dalton 2) Justin Comer 3) Shawn Duncan 4) Aaron Scroggins 5) Derek Watson 6) Lexy VanZandt 7) Jace Parmley 8) Bill Schahuber 9) James Thompson 10) Andy Beauchamp 11) Kelly Hicks 12) Mike Treadway 13) Cody Rider 14) Ken Scott 15) Rex Merritt 16) Cory Johnson 17) Jeff Hooper 18) Drake Long 19) Bobby Maggard DNS-Rod Inman .
Comer and Vanzandt earning the front row with Comer jumping to the opening spot and VanZandt glued to his bumper with 3 wide action behind. Rex Merritt who started 8th tonight is quick to come through the pack as point champion Jackie Dalton is working and searching for a line that works for him.A caution around lap 7 tightened the pack as 3rd heat winner Cory Johnson spun in turn 3 slowing the pace. Comer would find Merritt and Dalton glued to him until Merritt slowed with problems ending his bid for a win. Just past halfway, Dlton made the extreme high side and got around Comer to take the spot and walked away. The tight battle saw Duncan and Aaron Scroggins swap the spot with Watson gaining ground.

Pure Stocks presented by Pepsi
1) Kyle Purvis 2) Tryel Jones 3) Garrett Tillman 4) Jody Tillman 5) Robert High 6) Jacob Cater 7) Richard Sparks 8) Landyn McGlothin 9) Jordan Goddard 10) Richard Harrington 11) Charles Thrash 12) Randy High DNS-Anthony Kalman, Mike Kinyon.
Week after week, race after race These drivers run 3 wide, clean and delight the crowd. Cater takes the opening shot with 4 wide action behind as Randy High slows the pace with problems ending his bid for another win. Cater on the restart holding back the pack as Bohnstead winner Purvis sneaks around and then makes a sweet move to grab the spot as all eyes were on Robbie High coming from the back after having a flat tire. Jody Tillman was in the traveling wagon tonight and raced Garrett hard for position as point champion Tyrel Jones makes his way to 2nd but runs out of time.

Midwest Modz presented by Casey’s General Stores
A Ft-1) Elijah Keepper 2) Ian Morisset 3) Rob Muilenburg 4) Scott Campbell 5) Kyle Lafferty 6) Kyle Bates 7) Matt Williams 8) Rick Lampe 9) T.R. Phillips 10) Caleb Starnes 11) Jeremy Lahey 12) Robert High 13) Donnie Aust 14) Kevin Yount 15) Dustin Ladd 16) Shawn Carlberg 17) Jonathan Dean 18) Dalton Kidwell
B Ft 1(Top 3 to A) 1) Starnes 2) Dean 3) Carlberg 4) Jerad McIntire 5) Jerry Lankton 6) Lacey Menzie 7) Roy Kelley 8) Trent Robinson 9) Austin Tredway DNS-Jeremy Hazel
B Ft #2( top 3 to A) 1) Lahey 2) Yount 3) Ladd 4) Gary Krebs 5) Ken Walker 6) Kerry Hobbs 7) Kabin Eubanks 8) Dusty Sanderson 9) Dakota Maggard DNS-Chad Donaldson
This has become the most intense of qualifying for the feature. With the line-up procedures, all 3 point contenders were in separate heats-That is how it should be.
Recap-Rookie Morriset jumps t the top spot with 3-4 wide action behind. Keepper took advantage of a long green run, picked and clawed his way to the 2nd place spot as Campbell and Muilenburg were swapping spots with Friday night Humboldt winner Lafferty. Keepper showed the crowd how you are patient, and then pick your spots as he took the top spot with only 2 laps remaining from Morriset who had his best run of the season.
We will let the office plug-in the results for the champion as I’m not for sure if heat points are awarded. If not, then Keepper will get the top spot as a feature pays 20 to win with a 2 pint drop to 2nd then 1 point back every spot afterwards. Keepper was 2 behind both Muilenburg Campbell. If a tie develops, then you go to the most wins-if the same most runner-up spots, Etc. I want to say Thank you to the Midwest for making your program entertaining and interesting each week with over 30 cars weekly. Don’t put those cars away yet-I’m sure there will be some good money races still to come.

Legends presented by Wheeler Metals
1) Grasyn Cox 2) Justin Comer 3) Wayne Johnston 4) Steve Harshbarger 5) Trenton Simon 6) Richard Powell 7) Chris Powell 8) Shane Lee 9) Mike Gilbert 10) Rick Nichols 11) Danny DeMasters 12) Chance Gilbert 13) Dave Comer 14) James Mc Dugle
To win a feature here is tough-defending champion Cox who has been on a limited schedule this year gets around early leader Mike Gilbert with 3 wide behind. Point condender Johnston is throwing everything except the kitchen sink at Cox and trying to get as many spots away from Simon as possible. Justin Comer gets in the mix from the back row starting spot and gets in this action following a caution which really bunched the pack-up. Cox had Comer and Johnston looking inside and outside with Harshbarger and Simon back and forth. Cox held his line despite the attempts for the top spot for the win with Simon nipping Johnston for the title.
Springfield Rceway is oof until Sept. 15th when The COMP CAMS Super Late Models roll into the Quick-Quarter along with USRA B Mods, Midwest, Pures and Legends. The Speedway is looking for dates for The A-Mods.
