Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (April 22, 2019) – Sammy Swindell and Thone Motorsports will join the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for a busy three-race weekend.
The competition begins on Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., before shifting to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., on Saturday. A race at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., on Sunday wraps up the weekend with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt.’
“We’d definitely like to win some of them or one of them,” Swindell said. “We should be in the top 10 and hopefully in the top five. Sometimes just your qualifying order can make a difference whether it’s a great night or a tough night. If we can get a good qualifying spot that can make for a great night.”
Swindell won a pair of 360ci winged sprint car races at Lake Ozark Speedway last year.
“We’ve got some pretty good notes for the 360,” he said. “We were there with the 410 earlier last season, but had a motor problem and didn’t finish. There were some things that we did different that will carry over to the 410 or at least I hope it does.”
Swindell has won World of Outlaws races at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in 1990, 1991, 1997 and most recently in 2014.
“It’s a fun place,” he said. “A lot of times you’re up against the wall all the way around. It’s fun if your car is going good. If not it’s a hanging-on experience, but it’s always been fun. Sometimes you can run through the middle or even around the inside wall. It depends on where the track is at that night.”
Sunday will mark Swindell’s debut at Jacksonville Speedway.
