Smith Holds Off Conley For GIS Sunday NeSmith Late Model Win

The Coyote Catches The Road Runner And Rambo Captures The World

Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney, SC holds the $10,000 check after winning the 100-lap 11th Annual World Championship Race for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series driving the M&W Transportation Special on Saturday night at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL.  Franklin had been trying for ten years to win the race, only to have something go wrong while leading.  The driver known as Rambo made a statement by leading 75 of the 100 laps and lapping all but the second and third-place cars.  He even held off a hard-charging Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL in the last 11 laps of the race, after Bronson made a strategic move that should have left Franklin a sitting duck.
