June 27, 2009 we are racing. UMP A-Modifieds, UMP Pro Late Models, UMP B-Modifieds, UMP Sportsmans and the MCS Mini Stocks.

One small change to the schedule. The Vintage cars will be unable to attend MCS next Saturday July 4th.
 
dude joe grow up and shut up your not even allowed back at the track so whats it to you anyways? hmm nothing just to start crap nice try!! and there will be double features for the B mod, street stocks, and mini stocks!!!! cant wait to see everyone!
 
current payout for crates at mcs

1st $90
2nd $70
3rd $50
4th $30
and people wonder why the car count is what it is.
 
mods paid 500 last week cause they had over 15 and I don't know why any of you would be complaining this is one of the funnest tracks I have ever had the chance to race at and as much as you say meland his dad are running this in the ground so are all of you fighting and complaining instead of racing and having fun if you don't own a car I don't want to hear it but all the actual racers like my self would race even if it didn't pay just for the pure love of the sport........tracks keep going away everyday appreciate what you got or youll have nothing.....
 
hes been racing there since it was open and everything he said was the truth!! ya i dont always agrees what goes on with certain things but MEL works his butt off every week trying to get the track nice! and in dirt track racing your not going to make money unless you are really good! it should be for fun and when its done being fun or you cant afford it anymore thats when you quit not get on here complaining and whining every week! if you want change then change it because whining on here isnt going to change anything its just going to lower the car count which lowers the purse which lowers the fans see my point! so instead of constantly down grading has anyone ever thought of telling mel thanks??? seriously! its not perfect NO and yes i do disagree alot what goes on in the office but theres obviously nothing we can do about that besides find someone to buy the track!so until you find someone to do that theres nothing we can do! jmo!!!!!!
 
i have raced there alot.mel does a great job but mel isnt the problem,his dad is and his dad is gonna be the death of the place,period!

I am glad that you agree with Dirtwizard...I never disagreed. I asked how long he was a racer and how long he has been at MCS.
Mel has done a lot of stuff to that track to keep it going and yes... racing is racing and yes.... you have to love being a racer cause you certainly are not gonna make money at it. And yes Del and the Mrs. need to step down and let Mel try to make a go of it.
But do you really think it is fair to any Driver including you and your Dad to set a pay out for any class and then half way threw say SORRY WE ARE GONNA GIVE YOU A FRACTION of what we said at the beginning.
Or accuse drivers of running off other drivers and fans because you win too much. Because I know you and your Dad would be livid.
Most drivers pay for their whole operation out of their pockets and DON'T have sponsors or only have a couple sponsors.
Do you think it is fair to the Driver and his sponsors to put their heart and soul and sponsors money and name into a race car "thinking" Hey Great we can race at a local track. have alot of fun and draw in some Fans and maybe win some Features and make some cash only to be told sorry you win to much and/or Sorry we can't pay you.
I thought racing was to be Fun and it has been for the last 40 yrs but the arguing and back stabbing is taking FUN out of it.
 
i agree with you about everything but theres nothing we can do about it! ya its completely stupid what happened and keeps happening bc they dont wont pay. but unfortunately nothing is going to change until they are gone!
and ya i know its ****s putting your heart and soul into racing and getting screwed ****s, but its like the whole ordeal last year too people dont come every week to see the same person win! i mean if they are talented try different tracks because it isnt fair going to the track knowing whos going to win! now if theres constant battling in the race and the same racer still wins so be it! that means ya they are a better driver and faster but if the driver is away from everyone racing and no one can catch them ya they should be penalized no not taking money away or anything like that but start them in the back after so many wins!
the backstabbing and arguing does take the fun out of it big time thats y i just ignore it or try to! so with the statement yes mcs does make really bad decessions sometimes like the stupidity saturday night....but you will find that at any dirt track we just see it more because thats where we go! i bet if you ask gundaker or any other track owners they would say the same! but ya i hope i didnt offend you flatbusted! but anywhere you go you will find all the stuff that goes on at mcs maybe not as major since mcs is such a small track!
 
I have been racing 15 years and racing at mcs since opening day I have won alot of races at this track and have not a single clue where any of the money went but i see the trophies everyday ....wait I know for a fact some of the money went to beer in the original days when it opened I drank with hamerlee and a couple other guys waited til the sun come up and went for breakfast at maggies thats what I remember nothing about the money.........as a matter of fact do you remember what you got paid 3 weeks ago???????no you don't cause it don't matter.....
 
Nice post Jason and VERY well said. And you dont need to own a car or race one there to care and try to do what it takes to keep the show going.. The biggest problem I see at the track is a lack of common courtesy towards the drivers and fans by certain parts of management. I love MCS and dont want to see it close, but nobody likes to be lied to or talked to like a dog when we are all on the same side. Drivers/Owner should be meeting or talking about what changes can be made to up car counts and get people back in the pits.. Fill the pits and the grandstands will magically fill up also.

i know exactly what i got paid 3 weeks ago and every week we race. i know exactly what my year to date costs are. i know i'm not making money. and i do race at other tracks. but its not the drivers job to bring more drivers in. yea we ask people to come and tell them what you might get paid, and they say nope. go to other tracks and see how mgmt. treats you, its 180 degree difference from mcs. no its not all mels fault but it is dells fault.
 
I couldnt agree more!! I love this little track, it made a huge change from when i first started going there years back though! I remember the nights jason is talking about, an they were great, just listenting to all the racing stories an hanging out with them was great, they were like family.
We made it out a few weeks ago an it was nothing like that now though, the races were over maybe 20 min an the lights where out but even after being gone an outta the picture at MCS when i came back i got so many hugs & everyone talked to me like i had never left, thats what makes the track the best!;)
But as much as well all complain nothing will change, we just gotta be happy it has been open this long:)
 
we have several B mods there every week and offer help and thanks mel but the appeciation we get is take off Montgomery City Mafia stickers or race some where else so every one can come party with the MAFIA at callaway raceway on friday nites. untill we get reasonable explination

It shouldnt be just about $$ when you race, You should just go out to have fun, Have no cares in the world except doing your best, not "how much money an i sinking into this car?" && "how much money am i gettin at the end of the night?" many rich racers do you know? I've never heard a small town racers say "oh, i race for the money"

As far as managment say something to them an put em in check :p ha ha... dont let them walk all over you.

I mean if you wanna complain or just dislike how MCS is being ran, just go to another track,(it's not likeyou would be the first) fulton on fridays, its not that far away, or pevely on saturdays..hell its not like MCS is the only track in the world........ But no matter how much anyone complains, nothing with change because of Del......
 
We are not racing for the money...nobody races for MONEY. Management sells RACING as entertainment their investment is the race track. We the races supply all the weekly entertainment so to say none of the racers invest in the race track is crazy. Racers race to have fun, meet new people and win Features if you don't then you don't need to be racing. But if management says we are gonna pay this amount for winning then they need to stand by their word and pay it out. Just like racers have to follow the rules so does management.
Question.....Do you know how to make a small fortune in racing????:confused:

Answer..... START WITH A LARGE ONE. :D

And yes drivers can go to other tracks but if this one was run right it would have a HELL OF A GOOD car count.
